Yesterday I had no problem accessing Free Republic. Today after a Microsoft update all of my browsers say Free Republic is not secure and I have to go through a few clicks to convince my browsers that I really want to see FR anyway.
Anyone else seeing this?
Also, the 2004 build was installed on my computer last night.
Ah- that makes sense. Should have thought of that. I guess one could grab the images and replace the URL.. but who knows what that does for copyrights, hard disks and complexity.
Yep, mine says that too. Just don’t put your social security # in a box like this or your banking information and you’ll be fine! ;-)
That makes sense.
I figured it was another MS sleaze maneuver. I don’t trust them one bit: Borland (framework), Netscape (IE), the GUI (I know Jobs stole it from Xerox also and then Gates stole it from Jobs)...
MS peddles over priced ideas they stole from others and hodgepodged together and mass produce in China and support from India for many years. Then they go after anyone who pirates their software (years past that often was some 16 year old) and run huge add campaigns about how unethical that is to copy their stuff. At least that’s my take and how I remember things. Gates is a billionaire because he’s a good thief and now he wants to immortalize himself, now in old age he wants to create the lasting legacy with his charities and philanthropy... Better a Soros, with him you at least know what sort of man you’re dealing with.
Free Republic isn’t enforcing HTTPS or redirecting non-SSL addresses. That’s why you get the warning.
Nope, the https makes no difference.
add an s after the http in the browser address
my computer usually says FR is not safe, but today it is! Crazy.
I met Gates years ago when he was a kid. He was a dipshit and stank.
bkmk
“s”, yes that fixed it for me too, happened a while back.
