My guess is it’s not a sport that kids can readily play...Every did can play baseball, basketball and football...
Let 10 or so years ago I took my truck up to a local dealer which (in the area I was living at the time) offered services until midnight. So, I went to the waiting room while my truck was being looked after and there was a television in the waiting room with no remote control and a hockey game was on and I sat there, and sat there, and sat there... by the time my truck was done I had watched the entire game. I went to the maintenance desk to pick up my truck keys and pay my bill and was asked if my weight was okay and all I could respond to was essentially that it was the first time I’ve ever watched an entire hockey game. And it was!
I’ve watched a few sinse but I’m not a fan per se, but I do occasionally see a game now rather than never see a game as was the case before I went to that car dealership.
