To: Drawsing
For me, it is because I cannot see and follow the puck because it is so small and moves so fast.

I'm surprised they don't employ CGI to somehow highlight the puck so that it's always obvious where it is. I'd like it better.

They did, I think way back in the 80s. I’m guessing it didn’t work all that well...

One of the networks tried that one year. It didn't catch on, kind of distracting I thought. They could just zoom in on the action better, don't need to see the whole rink.

Hockey is a sport like lacrosse where the puck or ball moves and changes direction so fast that it is hard to see it and the whole picture at the same time. Both are very exciting to watch in person but not so good on television
