Germans sell $56 billion more to the USA than they buy each year, a bigger positive imbalance for Germany than any other country.
Germans buy $16 billion more from China than they sell, also the biggest negative imbalance. for Germans, of any country.
So Germans, being by nature logical & rational people, hate their best customers and love their worst abusers?
Go figure.
Its not logical & rational to equate business dealings with love and hate.
Conventional trade figures are often confounded by harder to track data on ownership, finance, and investment. On the whole, the German public and government see China as more congenial and profitable than the United States and not a threat or rival. I also suspect that German businessmen enjoy China’s looser legal and anti-corruption environment.
