Barr said: “not every abuse of power, no matter how outrageous, is necessarily a federal crime.”

So he’s knows Obama did it, but not prosecutable. Should be.
+++++
My take as well. He is guilty as sin but if you are going to indict Obama you need to define the statute or statutes that he violated and have the ton of evidence that it will take to convince a jury.

Prosecutors don’t like to prosecute cases they don’t believe they can win.

I can do the misdirection thing, too, as well as "keep tension on the line."

This closer to what I really think.

All-in-all, I'm neither heartened, nor particularly disheartened about Barr's remarks at this stage.

The Attorney General is Bill Barr.
Bob Barr was a a Congressman from Georgia.

And Bob Bauer was Chairman of Perkins Coie for 28 years and Barry's first White House Counsel.

All three have all been members of the bar.

And I'm sure they've all been to a bar...

I think one of the lessons of history is that prosecuting ex-presidents is not the greatest idea, It leads to unpleasant consequences over the long run.

>><<

I think the reason we have this mess today is because ex presidents were not
held accountable for their crimes. How many Ceausecu treatments would
it take to stop the nonsense? Not very many.

NOVEMBER is our only opportunity to see these criminals and the crimes they committed will be noted IN HISTORY.

“Those that win write the history.”

We may not prosecute them, but for generations to come they must endure having to PARDON and DEFEND them. POTUS DJT ignores Biden; to ignore these criminals would be nothing but death to them.

To live the rest of their lives as a leper, a traitor, living in shame. The suit fits nicely.

see tag line....
“VICTORY FOR THE RIGHTEOUS IS JUDGMENT FOR THE WICKED”

These words were spoken in a prophecy given by Kim Clement years ago. They would not have been spoken unless they were relaying to us something worthwhile. Personally, to see every criminal taken down by a HOLY strike of lightening would not only bring cheers and joy, it would strengthen my FAITH that He is in control.

I keep reading how good we are for upholding precedent and not making bad precedent. In a perfect country, that is righteous, but the left does not play by the rules of decorum or virtue. They will keep on until they achieve their goal as we keep chanting, “We are better than that”.

There are THREE standards of justice at work. One stand is for President Trump and his associates, one for the common folks and a third, no accountability, for our rulers.

Today, petty tyrants are walking all over our rights, putting old people to death because they can and destroying our economy. In an earlier time, they would have been run out of town on a rail. Yet, we allow ourselves to be imprisoned for a pandemic of their own making.

>>>But I doubt his executive power advocacy includes violating the law and the rights of political opponents.

Don’t be so sure. He has argued that obstruction of justice cannot apply to any conduct by the president. “Constitutionally, it is wrong to conceive of the President as simply the highest officer within the Executive branch hierarchy, He alone is the Executive branch. As such he is the sole repository of all Exevutive powers conferred by the Constitution.” The president has unlimited power to direct or terminate any investigation. The only remedy for Congress is impeachment.

what I see is Barr reading a prepared, carefully-crafted statement that is entirely proper.”

THAT is the problem I have with it. Barr is a sophisticated and experienced communicator and lawyer. For him to use the phrase “drummed up” in this context is itself a signal.

There is NOTHING spurious about the potential charges here. To use that phrase at all anywhere on the same continent as Barack Obamas apparant actions is a shocking attack on the seriousness of the crime.

I could see Barr not WANTING to include Obama and Biden in charges. I myself would charge everybody BUT Bozo/Biden and let them both stew in the filth bubbling out of the courtrooms. But Barr has just signaled that NOBODY is getting charged by using the EXACT phrase that Hillary or Pelosi would...and probably have.

I would love to see Obama in jail. Though it will have to be a clear cut and easy to understand reason for the masses.

With this, Your Oath and DD214 could easily be construed as “Letter of Marque and Reprisal”.

I was talking about Barr violating the law to pursue his executive power advocacy.

I think you’re getting carried away. Pres. Trump has talked of ‘Obamagate’ and of ‘crimes’ having been committed by Obama and others. AG Barr knew he would be asked what crimes by Obama or Biden the DOJ is investigating. Barr’s statement boils down to ‘Based on the knowledge I have as of today, Durham is not investigating either Obama or Biden for having committed federal crimes and I don’t expect that to change.’

Barr spoke at some length about how Obama abused the DOJ and Barr said he would not reciprocate. To this point he said he would not ‘drum up’ charges against Biden the way Obama did against Trump. He said neither party should do that and tit-for-tat would not end it. The only way to end the injustice is to proceed honorably which is what Barr vowed to do. I don’t see anything wrong with what Barr said.
