Tara Reade is hurting Joe Biden, but his troubles go way beyond her allegations of forcible sexual penetration.
The most recent survey from The Morning Consult is full of bad news for Joe Biden. The survey says Biden is leading President Trump nationwide by three points; but it does not come close to supporting this assertion.
His support among women is falling at a noticeable pace.
Biden’s unfavorable/favorable standing with women is now 48/43, a 5-point net drop since April 26. This is the first time he has seen an unfavorable attitude among women. This was a 6-point drop among women.
Moreover, women ages 30 to 65 were the voters most responsible for handing Nancy Pelosi the Speaker’s job in 2018.
This group has soured on Biden.
The report on the survey’s results was full of sneaky language. It said, “Morning Consult measured similar dips in popularity [for Biden] among men, voters on either side of age 45, suburban whites, and black voters.”
Numbers describing how serious Biden’s popularity has dropped among these groups were not provided in the report. It gave not even a hint of how much of a “drop” Biden has experienced among, men, “voters on either side of 45” (whatever that means), suburban women, and Black voters.”
This item was especially interesting because Hillary Clinton got 88% of Black voters and lost. The media reported Trump got 8% of the Black vote and won.
Presumably, the benchmark for Black support for Democrats is 88 percent. Biden has lost some of that. How much did he loss, Morning Consult?
One of the craftiest lies told in the survey report is its handling of defections from the Democrat base. The report says, among voters who do not like either Biden or President Trump, 46 percent would vote for Biden, 40 percent were unaccounted for, but 14 percent would vote for President Trump.
Since Republican rank and file voters have not moved an inch from supporting the President, the question becomes who are the other 14 percent? Obviously, they are part of the Democrat base.
This means angry Sanders voters, who have said they would vote for Trump out of spite for his being pushed aside again, are standing by their threat.
No major party candidate of either party can lose 14 percent of his/her base and win.
Joe Biden is in serious danger of getting rolled over in November and taking the Democrats with him.
Hillary was a weak candidate, which none of them have ever admitted. If anything, Biden is even weaker.
Then there’s that dementia thing.

“Voters on either side of 45” must mean that they had one group that was up to 44 years old and another group that was 46 years old or older, but no one who was exactly 45 years old.
