I dont chase and shoot shop lifters. These guys didnt own the construction sight and werent on their property. Using deadly force requires more than two armed individuals running down someone then getting in a fight. A lot of bad choices were made. Ultimately charging a loaded shotgun was the final one. Sad damn deal.
This is what we know as much right now.
But it happens all the time. And people get shot. And neighbors shoot burglars and burglars shoot neighbors. It's been going on hundreds of years.
If someone armed stops you and says you're suspected of going into neighbors homes and possibly burglary, are you going to run 60' right at them and physically attack them while attempting to disarm them?
The guys were out of line, but he was shot only when he charges the armed guy. That could be tried as self defense
I will agree with you on these points.
“I dont chase and shoot shop lifters”
This is more of a case of chasing someone who had walked into a section of a store marked “Employees Only” and not one of chasing and shooting someone who shoplifted. The McMichaels made some really bad choices and I’m not feeling the least bit sorry for them.
