Well, whatever it is, nothing is stronger than the name of Jesus. And it has to bow to that regardless.

From the study you posted:

“The research builds on earlier findings from Dr. Davis and colleagues in a 2016 study that demonstrated cyanotoxin BMAA can cause changes in the brain that resemble Alzheimer’s disease in humans, including neurofibrillary tangles and amyloid deposits”.

The link to that toxin is interesting.

My ex-wife was diagnosed with MS over 18 years ago. She has had benefit from nutrition, and various supplements. I have seen results literally before my eyes.

Two things I would take seriously to do are Hyperbaric oxygen and high dose vitamin c.

Both are GOD’s products. Nothing is more powerful than that.

Because ALS is a neurodegenerative disease I would strongly suggest as I mentioned before Hyperbaric Oxygen. Contact: Dr. Paul Harch in New Orleans. He is a leading doctor in the use of HB02. He will be able to tell you if it’s worth doing which I think it is. HB02 has an amazing track record of success in treating injuries to the brain and brain disorders. btw, HBO2 is widely used in the UK for treatment of MS (similar to ALS). The MS Society conducted a trial of HB02 that showed promise. After which, they cancelled any further research (?).

There are numerous books out on this that you can research this.

Dr. Harch’s book “THE OXYGEN REVOLUTION” has a chapter on this in which he cites a patients success (doing well 4 years after fatal ALS diagnosis) using a “multi-modality therapy; HBO2, diet, ozone and other. Access his website: HBOT.com -lots of info and his ph. #.

Another resource is “OXYGEN and the BRAIN” Philip B. James - invaluable information.

The second again, is high dose vitamin c. As above it will take a “multi-modality” strategy. You may wonder why vit c. Because, if there is a toxin involved with ALS as is indicated in the study previously posted High dose IV vit c has been shown to be very effective in dealing with toxins which in the case of ALS could be retrovirus. See: “Curing the Incurable” Dr. Thomas Levy.
I am going to mention also: “Surinam” “Interferon’s” and HCQ and zinc. As things to consider. All useful in dealing with virus. (retrovirus) which I suspect is involved as the causative agent in many of these disorders. See: Dr. Judy Mikovits books and interviews. Lots of insight on this to go on.

So, there is some information. Now go to work and do your research. :)

Your going to have to think and go outside the box to help your son in law to give him a real chance. Both of the above have no down side and could make a real difference. It is exactly what I would do if it were my son.

Hope this will be of help.

FULL STORY

The addition of dietary L-serine, a naturally occurring amino acid necessary for formation of proteins and nerve cells, delayed signs of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in an animal study.

The research also represents a significant advance in animal modeling of ALS, a debilitating neurodegenerative disease, said David A. Davis, Ph.D., lead author and research assistant professor of neurology and associate director of the Brain Endowment Bank at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

The new research protocol using vervets appears more analogous to how ALS develops in humans, Dr. Davis said, compared to historic models using rodents. When he and colleagues gave the vervets a toxin produced by blue-green algae known as ?-N-methylamino-L-alanine or BMAA, they developed pathology that closely resembles how ALS affects the spinal cords in humans.

When a group of these animals were fed L-serine together with BMAA for 140 days, the strategy was protective — the vervets showed significantly reduced signs of protein inclusions in spinal cord neurons and a decrease in pro-inflammatory microglia. The results were published on Thursday, February 20 at 5 a.m. EST in the Journal of Neuropathology & Experimental Neurology.

EXCERPTED.
