I'm neither a doctor nor a scientist, but in my work I am a problem solver. Analyzing and solving problems involve pretty much the same approach, whether you are a scientist, a programmer, or an appliance repair man. It's logic.

So here goes:

1.) Implement the HCQ protocol on a massive scale. NOW. Doctors the world over are confirming its efficacy. The only things holding it back are partisan politics and the lack of profitability. I had been saying this before President Trump's mention of it, which only served to brand it with a scarlet letter for half the populace.

2.) Design a system to protect people in care centers, and man them with National Guard troops, if necessary. Preventing the infection of the vulnerable in care centers can reduce total Covid-19 deaths in the U.S. by up to 50%(!) Shouldn't measures to cut deaths in half be a priority?

3.) Plan for dynamic fluidity when allocating medical resources where they are most needed, which will morph over time. Not every hospital needs excess resources, so move those resources QUICKLY to the hot spots as they develop. MASH units on a nationwide scale.

4.) Encourage self-quarantining for the vulnerable among the general public.

5.) Set everyone else free. Tell them to wear masks, wash their hands, and practice "social distancing". (I for one, am happy to abandon Mrs. Chandler's Canadian family's cultural habit of hugging and kissing. I am eager to return to my cold hearted German roots. And now I don't even have to shake hands!)

6.) Continue the increase in testing.

From what I read, I agree. It’s up to Trump to push real hard on the NIH to prove the efficacy of this cocktail and prove it fast. He hasn’t mentioned it lately and there doesn’t appear to be any more interest from him. If this combo does work, it could be the game changer we need to open this country back up. Maybe he knows something we don’t because I can’t believe he would pass up the opportunity to tout a possible winner like this. I hope I’m wrong and he is pushing real hard behind the scenes. If so, we should hear something shortly.

I didn’t realize until recently that I had basically been practicing social distancing (sounds very cold) as was and still not a hugger, basically scowl when offered a hand to shake, my ‘favorite’ drinking establishments were me, a bartender or two (to keep the conversation going) and maybe 3 or 4 customers, spaced out....(But I do realize that ‘my kind of dive’ ain’tagonna make it, so I adapted)

But keep your distance was a good rule of thumb that I enjoy.
