Sounds like the same reasoning behind giving expensive statins like Lipitor instead of the very cheap folic acid for cholesterol control. Folic acid reduced homocysteine and cholesterol cannot bind to form plaques in the arteries without homocystine, and if the cholesterol can’t form the plaques then you don’t need to reduce it with expensive statins.
I’m all for this drug.
The only caveat is that before you can have it, you have to declare yourself a Never Trumper and agree that you cannot be administered and will not accept HCQ+
