When to admit you've made a grievous blunder
American Thinker ^ | April 28, 2020 | Geoffrey P. Hunt

Posted on 04/28/2020 2:21:34 PM PDT by CheshireTheCat

...Well, we are all Peugeot-owners now. The nationwide CCP COVID-19 lockdown may have been plausible at the start, but within weeks, maybe days, it was obvious we’d been misled by the tyranny of experts, no better than smooth 90-day wonder new car showroom salesmen.

How soon will president Trump and his inner circle, including the so-called public health experts, admit we’ve been led on a snipe hunt with grievous consequences? Or will he and the gaggle of totalitarian governors, ignoring independently sourced data contravening all of their advisories and directives, continue to justify their faulty prescriptions, denying their culpability?...

And I do not and never did own a Peugeot, if you know what I mean.

The lock-down will be seen as a historic blunder that led to Trump’s defeat.

Politicians and bureaucrats are not equipped to admit error or relinquish control, this will be a problem.

I don’t know if it will result in a Trump loss, but it was a mistake of historic proportions. I would think it is obvious that with the MSM and DNC generated hysteria, Trump had his hand forced.

Oh? Why?

Because he shut down 42 states?

He only gave them information, responded and fulfilled all of their requests, they admit that.

No, the Hostile Takeover of our Lives was done by 42 Givernors, 5 of whom just entered into a pact NOT to open until....whenever and I have a feeling that whenever is going to be a few short days away when they lose control and the American Citizen removes their boot from their neck and rises up against them...

Maybe they send Goon Squads to enforce, which will only under score their treachery in Bold Letters and Bright Colors!

= = =

Yeah, but did you rent or borrow one?

Or did a ‘friend’ have one.

Or maybe someone parked one in your apartment parking lot.

How do you even know how to spell Peugeot? - - - Guilty!

a SWAG is way better than a WAG.

Seems to me POTUS’s original gut was to let ‘er rip.
We could see how badly he wanted to open up Easter.

Actually, you’re wrong.

Trump left it up to the governors.

The agreement with the shutdown was fairly unanimous among the people.

And nobody is going to go to the polls thinking “Hmmm. Trump and I were wrong on this thing, so I’m voting against him.”

The agreement to shut down was for 15 days and then for 30 days. There is no concensus to stay shut down after the 30 days. Even the 30 was too much at once.

The guideline that a state must have 14 days of continuous decrease in any of the measurements (cases, deaths, etc.) is probably unattainable. A state could have 13 days with 13 decreases and then go up for the 14th day, requiring them (or giving a governor who wanted to stay shut down cover) to start over on a new day one. A trend for 14 days would be ok, not 14 decreases in a row.

PDJT is a numbers man. I am surprised that he let this one slide by. Dr. Birx is all about numbers. She had to know how unrealistic this 4 days in a row is.

Who me ??? I do not know what is this Peugeot you are speaking of .....

Oh my word, a near perfect description of our experience buying a Peugeot sedan in the 80s. And so appropos to our current disaster. At least I got a good, much needed laugh!

Trump recommended that the states shut down. It’s on him, no getting around that.

This thing was a disaster from the get-go. The sooner POTUS kicks its stink off him and focuses on reopening America and getting everyone back to work the better.

Enough.
