The Indian progressives did not do themselves any favors here that is for sure. The image on the butter was a symbol of pride. Oh well... Stupid is as Stupid does.
You got that right
Ojibwe artist Patrick DesJarlait remade Mia in the mid-1950s. DesJarlait also created the popular Hamms Beer bear, and his work is represented in the collection of the Minnesota Museum of American Art in St. Paul.

... His son Robert DesJarnait writes: “His dream was to teach non-Indian people about the beauty and dignity of the Ojibwe traditions. With this dream in mind, he traveled throughout Minnesota talking to students about art.”
I believe that this is the impetus for the change...and the Woman CEO confirms it without saying it.
Amen, Nauru. Anyone whos never done it, give it a try. My guests are always impressed when I make homemade butter. Essentially make whipped cream with a little salt and keep whipping until the curds and whey separate. Look online for details; I dont want to take up space here. Super easy and super good
We have 15# in the freezer. Hubby doesnt want to run out. He couldnt tell you whats on the label but he could tell you what he paid for it!
I don’t know if it’s just me, but , I did a double take at the way she was holding that corn. And i know that everything is carefully scripted in a commercial.
If only Reagan had gotten behind Kemp. Talk about elections having consequences.
That Mazzola margarine maid was showing some attitude:
“You call it corn. WE call it maize! Get it right, WHITE BOY!!”
That was in 1976. She has to be my age now. Pow Wow Chow time.
The appearance of Sacheen Littlefeather at the 1973 Academy Awards is also worth recalling.
Ever notice that the militant Indian movement died once they built their casinos? Make-um beaucoup wampum from whitey now.
A few do, anyway.
The same Kemp that cowered to Gore during their debate? Worst debate performance, ever.
It’s their property, they can call it Feces Butter and put a picture of a turd on it for all I care.
...Too much????
Fascinating.
“One would think that Native American activists would be proud to have a beautiful cultural icon symbolizing the best of American Indians on a package of butter. Oh well. I guess not.”
I had a ditzy college go try to shame me for wearing an Indian Motorcycle shirt. I tried to tell her that the bikes were meant to embody the finer characteristics of their namesake. The Chief was big, powerful, and dignified. The Scout fast and nimble etc. Went over her head.
Land O Lakes probably made a good move here. Anyone who has visited an Indian reservation in the last 50 years will tell you that using an Indian as a symbol of quality and purity is some kind of sick joke.
Ouch.
Why I Dont Care About the Land O Lakes Label Change
Because he’s racist and hates Indians! Outside of foorball and baseball, what positive Indian corporate images are there?
It sounds like you were “shamed” by a typical LEFTIST DUNCE. - MOST of the “current crop” of college kids seem to be EMPTY between the ears & seemingly INCAPABLE of critical thought, as they FEEL about things in society rather than thinking about issues in society.
As a member of one of the over 300 Amer-Indian Nations, I wish that the so-called SJW & “activists” would just SHUT UP about things that they do not understand & may well be incapable of understanding.
Yours, TMN78247
Just churning the pot i see
