University changes tone, shutters Chinese Communist Party-funded Confucius Institute

Miami University in Ohio has announced that it will close its Chinese government-funded Confucius Institute in June.

Amid increased concerns over Chinese money in American universities, Miami University's decision was particularly sudden, citing funding concerns. With the exception of senior staff, most of the Institute’s staffers are paid by the Chinese government, according to the Miami Student.

At first I was excited to read this, but then I did a title search on FR and saw that ten universities closed down these centers in late 2018, so Miami is behind the eight ball on this. Still, it's a small sign of things moving in the right direction.

“Confucius Institute”. Ha, that’s a good one. And that’s where the nazis went wrong. Instead of calling their infiltrators the German-American Bund, they should have called them the Beethoven Buddies.

After what they’ve done, I want the Chinese government burned to the ground. And in the process, I want to rub the noses of every Communist apologist liberal and every Chamber of Commerce traitor in the ashes. The Chinese were every bit as treacherous in this situation as were the imperial Japanese at Pearl Harbor. The ChiComs knew how deadly this virus was, and immediately banned all travel from Wuhan to other areas of China, yet they did nothing to stop travel from Wuhan to other countries. That clearly indicates that they INTENDED to inflict the virus on the West.

Then we had the stories of the Chinese government sending people into stores in the U.S. and Europe to buy up all of the protective equipment, sanitizer, etc. and ship it back to China.

And if that weren’t enough, Chinese hackers were detected hacking into the systems of various U.S. hospitals and medical institutes who were trying to fight the virus, and disrupting their systems.

So, China either intentionally or accidentally released this virus from their own lab, consciously permitted it to spread to the rest of the world while they lied about its source and nature, and actively tried to prevent us from defending ourselves from it. I don’t know what else to call that except a blatant act of war! This Chinese regime must be destroyed, through whatever means are necessary, or we will have only ourselves to blame when they inevitably inflict even worse damage upon us.

And just now I see an alert from FoxNews that the State Department is saying that China is conducting secret nuclear tests. Seriously, DESTROY this regime immediately and use the spoils to reimburse the rest of the world for what they’ve done.

Very well stated. You should post this on comment boards on university newspaper and alumni websites.

There is hope, probably faint, perhaps not, that Miami U. got rid of the Institute because a few of their students, parents of students, alumni, and “townies” expressed to them very much what you expressed here.

Thank you for your comment, well said. Miami University in Oxford, Ohio was the start of the virus in Butler county, coincidence? This is my alma mater. I didn’t know they had an institute. I’m with you, in the words of a black man from Baltimore, burn this **er down. I saw them give a minority foreigner living in Russia a scholarship. Don’t ever ask me for any contribution ever again.

The Confucius Institute is a Chinese cover enterprise to get a foothold in American universities and subvert the institutional machinery, steal intellectual property, and set up cells of faculty and staff who can serve to advance China’s interests. They were exposed several years ago but some schools are still too obtuse to realize they have a snake in their bed.

My kid is a Junior at Miami U. He says that it is NOT uncommon for Chinese students who are “struggling” to be pulled out of class by two Chinese men in dark suits and walked away to a private meeting. He has even seen it happen at night in the halls of the dorms.

He and his friends believe these Chinese students are either CCP member’s children or PLA officers (likely both).
