No. A former employee tested positive, but has very mild symptoms. He’s not in the best of health and an alcoholic (thus the “former” status).
Probably depends where you live. It's rampant in certain DC suburb neighborhoods; it's in clusters according to Zip Code maps.
Some neighborhoods, very light
If we KNOW of someone why is that anecdotal? Do they have to be in my house?
Nope, I don’t even know anyone that knows anyone who has even been diagnosed as having it, much less dying of it. including my friends in Seattle.
No.
I do not know of anyone personally who has either tested positive for COVID-19 or has gotten ill from it.
But I’m suspect that people in certain areas (NYC, New Orleans, etc) may answer differently.
Yes. One. 72 year-old female, who was seemingly okay when I last saw her about six weeks ago.
ML/NJ
Yes. Friend’s mother. She was 78.
No.
Wife met in an office with first case in the county. He got it from a Chinese traveler. Wife had to isolate but no symptoms. The first case (42 yo male) fought it for more than a month, and just got his first negative test, waiting for second so he can get out of quarantine.
There are 190 cases, 3 deaths and 37 hospitalizations in our county of 500,000, and this is West coast Florida, where we have a lot of senior citizens.
Are marathon runners more susceptible to the Corona Virus?
We have a good friend who was a runner in her earlier years and has niece who after one year of running was ranked very high.
That niece was advised by a doctor who was a runner to have few runs and less distance.
Something about runners and their 02 levels after a race.
One of our younger male relatives did some semi competitive off road bike racing. Some his friends, who still race, were told to minimize the real racing again re their 02 levels.
There are supposedly 93 cases in my zip code of approx 30K people. Do not know if any have died. With a death rate of less than 1%, it means zero or one death possible, on average; although I imagine the deaths cluster in higher-density areas. We are an exurb.
Good. Stay safe & healthy.
No, because everyone is staying home except for essential business and giving other people some space. Oh, and avoiding places with cooties like nightclubs, restaurants, hotels and theaters.
Yep. Same here and I live in Los Angeles. Impossible for me to take believe this is a genuine pandemic when I live in the second largest US metropolis and have yet to meet a single person who has either contracted this virus or knows somebody that has.
Regardless, it’s just the flu.
How about indirectly? I beat the crap out of the greeter at my local Meijer store this morning since the old lady wasn't wearing a protective mask........Does that count?
yes. College classmate in his 70s. Reasonably good health. Had a broken bone and went into hospital. Got it there and died within a couple of days. Rather agonizing death. In touch with daughter by phone and video to end.
You too!
That brings up another point.
I have only had one conversation with anyone for over a month and that was yesterday.
I haven't looked at fb for several months, so I don't know if I know anyone who has died of it. I would hope one of my siblings would tell me if a relative had died. Friends and acquaintances, I have no way to know about.
Being in the telecommunications field for forty years did give me another perspective about this situation. As part of the National Telecommunications Infrastructure, we had Shelter-in-Place(SIP) plans and procedures at our data centers and major junction facilities as far back as the 1980's. Seal outside doors with tape, and close all outside air vents or ducts etc. I was similar to the Israelis preparations for Scud missiles attacks way back then.
Same here In Pittsburgh!
It’s none of your business and it proves nothing.
You’re doing nothing but pot stirring.
I think it’s Holy Trinity nursing home that has a large percentage of infected but most are asymptomatic, so maybe not all hope is lost when elders/infirm get this virus.
