Ahem. Those events occurred when tyrants were suppressing the practice of the religion itself, not the spread of a disease. This current event just isn't even slightly similar to those times.

If you merely search out the history of quarantine, you would find it to be a standard practice for disease control. It was practices throughout history. The first time it was used in North America was at Jamestown. Nobody was more a determined church-goer than they, yet they tried to control the spread of disease without the presence of a strong government. Of course, unlike the people of this Nation, they were a self-disciplined bunch of people.

The Romans believed in multiple Gods and that Caesar was one of them. All the Christians had to do was proclaim Caesar a god and they could go on their way.
The commandment says to keep the Sabbath holy. This pastor was doing that as he understood it.

“Being dumb isn’t one of the commandments”

I know, right! Imagine Jesus doing something stupid like visiting lepers, washing them even!

OMG! What a bad example HE was!

The Pastor can keep the Sabbath Holy without gathering people in a time of quarantine. His selfishness may now cause additional deaths.

Going to church isn't a suicide pact. Wait and see how many of his parishioners get sick.

The stupid is great in this Nation. God expects us to protect the Temple of God, our own bodies. We can’t gather to worship when we are dead, we can’t be “fruitful and multiply” when we are dead. Worship is not for God’s sake, it is for our own. If you can’t practice good sense in order to protect the Body of Christ, then you really don’t understand worship.

BTW The time of quarantine doing anything passed by January (according to Johns Hopkins school of public health). Although, what we’re doing now isn’t really quarantine. How long this has been in the wild is currently a subject of debate. What we do know is that in the larger studies, the vast majority who test positive show no or slight symptoms. All those people are going to the grocery stores and doing other things. Sure, if you’re immune impaired stay in but this man had more important things to do.

As for keeping the Sabbath holy, he gets to define that along with the people in his congregation, not you.

Our leader are doing the best they can to their knowledge. They are also flinching from political pressure, not wanting to be accused of not doing anything.

You can get Baptized in a river full of piranha if you choose. That amounts to the same thing. So, if you must spread the contagion, please keep it limited to your circle.

Titus 3:1 states, "Remind the people to be SUBJECT TO RULERS AND AUTHORITIES, TO BE OBEDIENT, to be ready to do whatever is good," (emphasis mine)

1 Peter 2:13-14 states, "Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, 14 or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right." (emphasis mine)

Replying to satan's third temptation or challenge, Jesus replied, referencing Deutoronomy 6:16, "It is written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test." (Matthew 4:7, Luke 4:12)

The Pastor was testing God! God had provided him with the opportunity to CONTINUE PREACHING OVER THE INTERNET, as so many churches are doing. Instead he chose to do something that may have been illegal (though I am not sure of the Stae's laws), put himself, his family, his congregants, their families, and members of the general public, potentially at risk and, most importantly, to a very secular world that desperately NEEDS JESUS, the Pastor displayed Jesus' Church in an unfavourable light!

Perhaps the Lord just said, "Enough! Now you are coming home."
