I agree. I’ve been happily married for about 33 years. Kids are all gone and we’re enjoying it even more.
Some of the guys on this thread have been burned and that is sad.
My experience is far different. We’ve always gone to small to mid sized conservative churches. In my circles, I truly only know a couple families that have split. From my generation literally only two. One was from several emotional abuse by the husband and she tried to work it out for over 20 years.

My experience is similar. Happily married for 30 years to a little Irish
Catholic girl from South Philly. I spent the better part of a year jumping
around Asia with the Corps and have have traveled there extensively for
my job. While I find Asian women attractive, especially Filipinos, the
subservient thing in their culture I always found unnerving. I married a
partner to share my life with, not wait on me hand and foot or kiss my a$$.
I don't need that to feel like a man.
