All over the country, irrational panic over COVID-19 is causing hospitals to cancel elective surgeries and lay off huge numbers of health care workers. Here are some news headlines about this:
Coronavirus financial losses prompt Boston Medical Center to furlough 700 employees, 10% of hospitals workforce

Kentucky hospital chain furloughs about 500 employees as coronavirus saps business

A mounting casualty crisis: Health care jobs
Four West Virginia hospitals lay off hundreds because of coronavirus-related shrinking revenues
Thousands of US medical workers furloughed, laid off as routine patient visits drop during coronavirus pandemic
I Cant Get My Hip Surgery Because Of Coronavirus Even Though Nobody Is In Our Hospital
MUSC Health lays off 900 due to COVID-19 financial strain
Oklahoma City hospital closed amid coronavirus spread
So people who need hip replacements and other kinds of elective surgeries are being denied these procedures, and hospitals are laying off huge numbers of health care workers. This doesn’t make any sense to me.
Wreck the healthcare industry any way possible.
This whole thing is a leftist’s dream come true.
Today in Portland, Oregon took husband to hospital for a MRI. They took his temp, we had masks, the place was practically a ghost town. We were done in less than an hour.
Check out Mayo Clinic has furloughed clinicians and employees through December 31. Mayo is largely a surgical hospital and now they are un-employing people. Here is something to consider — how many people will die because for these 60 days, we stopped all other forms of medicine....I would wager that there are more deaths related to lack of care in other areas than for something that, if there are only 60,000 deaths, will go down in history as a bad flu season.
I have thought about that myself cancer patients having to wait for their surgeries to save PPEs and ventilators ect.
They are ALL high fiving each other at just how easy it was to get the masses into a hysterical frame of mind bring America to her knees on BLATANT phones numbers, reporting every damn death count, every damn person getting sick in 2017 flu season we had 80,000 deaths YET crickets!! It wasnt important because it was not an election year AND they really needed to tank this ABOVE GREAT economy!!!
phones = phony
At today’s press conference President Trump said necessary surgeries should not be put off due to Covid-19 anymore. He said the decision should be between the surgeon and the patient. I hope all these hospitals that have cancelled surgeries were listening. Just because a procedure is deemed “elective” does not mean it’s not necessary or should be put off.
Boulder Community Hospital is almost completely empty due to the gov ordering everyone out and that no one can come back in except as an emergency, so they’ve had to lay off most of the staff, docs get no money, and i’ve got a friend who keeps going into vtach and his “elective” surgery was cancelled and so now he’s on pins and needles trying to stay alive ...
