Looking for Freeper's thoughts. What purchases could be made at this time that will result in savings. For example this might be a good time to top off home heating oil tanks.
Nice problem to have.
“...home heating oil...”
-
What is that?
Where have you been for the last 4 years on FR?
I guess it depends on what you want or need.
I am thinking of getting a nice binocular which I usually can’t afford.
My home heating oil company topped me off the other day without me having to call them. 159.5 gallons for $1.66.9
I have been buying Ajax Clothes Washing Detergent at $1.00 a 40 oz bottle at Walgreens for the past week.
I am not greedy. I only get 2 at a time. There are 3 different types.
I now have 12 bottles and will stop by again after work. When I get to 20, I will stop. That will last me for a year. $20 for a years supply isn’t bad.
$1.66.9 per gallon
Also, I caught gasoline at $1.09 and not only filled up every car, but also two 5 gallon containers, two 10 gallon containers, and six 2 1/2 gallon containers. I got gas for the entire summer grass cutting season and emergency supply for my emergency generator.
I have the stuff you put in the gas to keep it from downgrading.
Years ago I stocked up on twin blade shaving razors from my local grocery store. The regular price was $3.49 for a pack of 12, but they were on sale 2 for $4.00. There was no limit, so I was greedy, and wiped out the shelf every time I went. I get three shaves per razor, and I’m still shaving on razors I bought in 2016.
The price of propane is quite low.
If you have a large tank, it could be a good time to fill it.
If you are thinking about traveling by air. I saw a flight to Orlando from Memphis for $27 round trip for May. Buy ahead and use later.
At that price, does the flight have a pilot?
I have used the same razor for the past two months. I am a real cheapskate when it comes to razors.
You got a good deal.
Well, I should elaborate. If you got a carry on, it goes up to $107. And a carry on and checked bag goes up to $177.
Still not bad compared to normal times.
I’d use them longer, but they get dull after 3 shaves.
Buy another tank and top it off.
Buy an oil storage yard and top it off.
Buy an oil company.
You didn’t say how much you have to work with. :-)
I should mention that I am a prepper, so when I find a good deal on stuff we use regularly, I will swoop down on it like a vulture to roadkill.
This is why I am not out begging for toilet paper and other essentials. I am not rich nor do I have a exceeding large space to store astronomical amounts of stuff either.
Due to the current situation, I am being respectful to the plight of others by not wiping out great deals when I find them. I limit myself to 2 and give away a lot of stuff to my family and friends.
99 cents a gallon in southeast Missouri.
