Lame Canadian government disclaimer re origins and circumstances of COVID-19 virus origins (in Winnipeg, Canada)

You may have encountered the rumor that a lab in Winnipeg, Canada, might have played an inadvertent role in the creation of the COVID-19 virus. The general idea behind this is that Chinese communist medical spies worked in the lab at our invitation (which makes my use of the word inadvertent rather charitable), and that they illegally stole information and even had samples shipped to China.

Here's the official disclaimer (lame at best) trotted out by our government for the (dis)information of the sheeple of Kanaduh. Do you believe a word of this? I don't. But I'm used to seeing through the lies of Canadian government types, it's a way of life up here.

https://accesswinnipeg.com/2020/01/did-chinese-scientists-steal-the-coronavirus-from-a-winnipeg-lab/

Now if there was ever a lamer explanation than that, I am challenged to think of one.

Basically what this boils down to is, "okay, these Chinese government agents we invited to work here probably did a bunch of illegal things, and had samples shipped back to China, but it was all done by the book."

So what exactly is the book?

(what this link does not explicitly mention is that the lead perp Chinese "scientist" then went on to work at the Wuhan lab that is also suspected of being a source of the virus)

Another lame explanation I read on another blog discussing this was, "okay the Chinese are behind this, but their intention was to step in with vital medicines and play the role of saviour." Mm-hmm, and when was that going to start?

I think a more likely explanation is that Canada got played by its Chinese patrons (there is more than just a friendly relationship, our PM is known to be a sympathizer of the communist regime and said so on several occasions before entering politics and even after being elected, he's shut up about it since reaching the high office, but now he's almost incommunicado in Ottawa living in his private residence and only emerging once a day to "inform" Canadians on the "progress" of this pandemic -- one really has to wonder how he defines success.)

Anyway, as pissed off as we might rightfully be at the stupidity of the Canadian government in this matter, it does eventually shift the attention back to the role played by the government of China in this. Was it an experiment that got loose beyond safe boundaries and spread uncontrolled into the local population? Or was it a coincidence, a naturally occurring start point that they almost instantly recognized from their own work on the virus? What decisions did they make, and why?

Once we get everybody safe and well, or maybe before that, answers need to be established to these reasonable questions. And Canadians need to be more widely informed of what happened in Winnipeg a few years ago. I live in Canada and I do not think more than a handful of Canadians even heard about this business, or if they did (it was reported on the news when it happened) they more or less failed to recognize its significance.

What will it take for Canadians to finally wake up and realize they are being governed by extremists with a hidden agenda? And what exactly is that agenda?

Like Gibbs says on NCIS, don’t believe in coincidences.

Thanks my link didn’t seem to work ... don’t you find that to be quite a lame sounding set of excuses?

"Like Gibbs says on NCIS, don’t believe in coincidences."

Tony Hillerman had his Detective Leaphorn say that throughout his Navaho mystery series.

Don’t forget the convenient death of the head of the Canadian lab in Kenya.

Many, many missing parts to this jigsaw puzzle--and the Canadian government is holding tight to them.

"Comments" in the Access Winnipeg article are helpful--and lead on to further questions.

Seems the mysterious Dr. Xiangguo Qiu went to China on and off for five years to help them build a virology lab. Many of her students in her Canadian classes she recruited from China. The RMCP grabbed her computer one night when her office was closed.

Here are a few links that illustrate the many wrinkles in this Chinese virologist's history.

China's Biological Warfare Programme and the Curious Case of Dr. Xiangguo Qiu

China and Viruses: The Case of Dr. Xiangguo Qiu

From above link:The Chinese interest in Ebola, Nipah, Marburg, and Rift Valley fever might possibly be beyond scientific and medical needs. Significantly, only the Nipah virus is naturally found in China or neighboring countries. That being the case, the interface between Qiu and China is a priori highly suspicious.

The shipment of the two viruses from NML to China is alarming unto itself, but it also raises the question of what other shipments of viruses or other items might have been made to China between 2006 and 2018.

Qiu made at least five trips over the academic year 2017-18 alone to the above-mentioned Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences . . . .

Remember the story by Kyle Bass on Twitter and posted here.

This is not a naturally occurring bug, IMHO.

It will get totally covered up if it remains only a Canadian news story, and I don’t think that will be in the best interest of U.S. or western security in general.

Did anyone who read that disclaimer post at the link find it to be credible? I have to admit a bias against Canadian government pronouncements in general, maybe it’s just me, but it seems transparently to be a close the barnyard door after horse escapes sort of narrative. The very best thing one could say is that its author is out of touch with reality.
