Malaria drug hydroxychloroquine continues to dominate the headlines after many success stories from doctors in the front line. This evening, a renowned infectious disease specialist Dr. Stephen Smith, said he and his team have treated over the 50 patients with hydroxychloroquine. Dr. Smith is the founder of the Smith Center for Infectious Diseases in New Jersey.
Tonight, Dr. Smith shared his findings among COVID-19 patients in an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham. Dr. Smith pointed out that not a single patient, COVID-19 patient, that has been under hydroxychloroquine regimen has had to to be intubated. Dr. Smith said that they had 20 intubations that all occurred within two days and more importantly, no person who received hydroxychloroquine for 5 days or more had been intubated.
Dr. Smith added that the chance of intubation happening, based on the stat done by his son, is a ridiculously low number of about 0.000 something percent. Dr. Smith said his team’s data support the data from French study led by the famous French researcher Dr. Didier Raoult.
In closing, Dr. Smith said: “Hydroxychloroquine is a game changer and ‘the beginning of the end coronavirus pandemic.” Dr. Stephen Smith is an infectious disease specialist in Roseland, New Jersey and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area. He has been in practice for more than 20 years.

Yes, it’s been known as quinine for 80 years. The British put it in their drinks in the East Indies a hundred years ago. Tonic water still contains some. It is still used world-wide both as a prophylactic and the treatment for malaria. Missionaries to Africa receive a lot of it.
The military probably has a lot of it, if it hasn’t been stolen yet. Our local grocery store tonic water shelf was decimated Sunday.

To all medical professionals around the world:
My name is Dr. Zev Zelenko and I practice medicine in Monroe, NY. For the last 16 years, I have cared for approximately 75% of the adult population of Kiryas Joel, which is a very close knit community of approximately 35,000 people in which the infection spread rapidly and unchecked prior to the imposition of social distancing.
As of today my team has tested approximately 200 people from this community for Covid-19, and 65% of the results have been positive. If extrapolated to the entire community, that means more than 20,000 people are infected at the present time. Of this group, I estimate that there are 1500 patients who are in the high-risk category (i.e. >60, immunocompromised, comorbidities, etc).
Given the urgency of the situation, I developed the following treatment protocol in the pre-hospital setting and have seen only positive results:
1. Any patient with shortness of breath regardless of age is treated.
2. Any patient in the high-risk category even with just mild symptoms is treated.
3. Young, healthy and low risk patients even with symptoms are not treated (unless their circumstances change and they fall into category 1 or 2).
My out-patient treatment regimen is as follows:
1. Hydroxychloroquine 200mg twice a day for 5 days
2. Azithromycin 500mg once a day for 5 days
3. Zinc sulfate 220mg once a day for 5 days
The rationale for my treatment plan is as follows. I combined the data available from China and South Korea with the recent study published from France (sites available on request). We know that hydroxychloroquine helps Zinc enter the cell. We know that Zinc slows viral replication within the cell. Regarding the use of azithromycin, I postulate it prevents secondary bacterial infections. These three drugs are well known and usually well tolerated, hence the risk to the patient is low.
Since last Thursday, my team has treated approximately 350 patients in Kiryas Joel and another 150 patients in other areas of New York with the above regimen.
Of this group and the information provided to me by affiliated medical teams, we have had ZERO deaths, ZERO hospitalizations, and ZERO intubations. In addition, I have not heard of any negative side effects other than approximately 10% of patients with temporary nausea and diarrhea.
In sum, my urgent recommendation is to initiate treatment in the outpatient setting as soon as possible in accordance with the above. Based on my direct experience, it prevents acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), prevents the need for hospitalization and saves lives.

Don’t you also need to supplement copper with such high amounts of zinc, to keep them in balance?

I was thrilled to watch this interview! The doctor is very well spoken, and very knowledgeable.
I was particularly please to hear “game changer”, and “the beginning of the end.” The president will surely want to bring this guy in - I expect he’ll tweet the interview.
These people are hurting their own case. When you have results that are significant, historically, you go to a publication and get your work accepted after review by their editors. Not to the TV studios. Let the NEJM schedule your TV appearances. When things are done this way it gives the appearance of charlatanism and quackery which makes those observing a little nervous. Like I said yesterday, it doesn’t matter what you think or even what I think. The leaders of the profession need to step in, now with a recommendation. It’s their DUTY.
To he’ll with NJEM, we don’t need and don’t have time for it. People need this now. It’s approved so use it. If you get Covid19 and need HC I hope you promise to wait until NJEM peer reviews 20 studies first. I never seen someone carry water like you.
There is no need in the age of the internet for a review by the editors of reputable journals to take more than part of an afternoon. This is why they enjoy their positions, now it’s time for them to do their jobs. Those institutions have professed to “serve this country” some of them for centuries. Today. Is the reason those people have been held in high regard for so long. Now it’s simply time for them to “Do their job.”

THANK YOU for using the only available numbers in a meaningful way. I’d suggest the case death rate is 7%, using the case number from 4 days earlier. I’ve seem no statistics even suggesting an average case-to-death time period, so I picked 4 days as a guess. Using 2 days gives a 6% case death rate.

This is for healing, not maintenance. If one checks for the activity of zinc upon viruses in general, it may be of extreme interest.
There used to be a zinc sublingual lozenge put out by The Life Extension Foundation (www.lef.org) which would stop a cold virus almost immediately if taken at the first sign.
It works very well, and tastes terrible.
Possibly it may do quite a bit against WooHooFlu. Google if desired.
