did you get the weird scratchy throat as one of the first symptoms before it hit you like a truck?

God speed in your recovery
(watch out for the relapse that happens to many)

Our older neighbor had the C-virus from recent cruise — had bilateral pneumonia. Was in ICU for several days then discharged to home. Wife is fine - has been healthy during the whole time. We were quarantined for 14 days due to our contact with them. We have been totally healthy. And now is the time to “shelter in place” so it has been a long month. And now we have another month to shelter ourselves.

Rude, but anyway..

I do read current info, but had only seen fever, dry cough, loss of hearing, chills and laughs headache. Had not heard about the backache and loss of other senses.

No true. Loss of sense of taste or smell, aches, digestive issues all possible if not common.

would be interesting to know if he had Type A blood and she had Type O

He clearly would have been shedding the virus on her but it didnt take hold

Some distant relatives attended a christening 3 weeks ago in NY.
One died on Thursday (80 years male, lung problems).
One couple (~70, in good health) was hospitalized. The wife was released. The husband was improving but now is getting worse.
I’ve heard others at the christening were also infected.

anecdotally, it seems you have to try to knock it out during that initial tickle in the throat stage before it really takes hold

one person here is on the train of zinc lozenge to coat your throat remedy so I boarded that train, too.

Interesting. I was not aware that the Blood Type made a difference. Do you have info or a reference for me?

Spent two weeks with severe appetite loss, unrelenting nausea, headache, and some fatigue. I couldn’t drink coffee. I’ve never had appetite loss in my life!

So I drank hot tea, water, etc. I took acetaminophen with caffeine, but it didn’t really help with the headache, so stopped, as I never had a fever above 98.7, but my normal temp runs low, so who knows.

I will wait for the “all clear”, and will look forward to one of those tests that tell if I had it. I think I did, but not going to chance it.

In that great “Hot Spot” outside of NYC. Sigh.

No, but they are studying it. Next time you talk to your neighbors you might ask.

The stories/studies mention Type A more susceptible ..type O less susceptible..no mention of B

and there may have been a group with O that was even less at risk..positive or negative RH factor..dont remember.

Clearly there was something about the Wife that kept it from taking hold of her. Blood Type, Genes, etc.

First responder paramedic Dallas Ft Worth metromess. Not diagnosed but would bet good money I had it December January time frame.

Had zero energy for several days and literally could not taste anything or smell gasoline on my hand up to my nose for about a week. Cough lasted about a month. Fever for 4 days or so.

Nothing like anything I have ever had before.

He has type B and she has Type A.

It is a weird virus. His Oxygen saturation was quite low - around 84% by pulse oxymeter but he wasn’t struggling to breathe. He insisted on using his CPAP machine in the ICU and he made a good recovery without being intubated. And was discharged from ICU to home after 5 days. OxSat back to mid 90s. (Never smoked. )

well...there go that theory about the blood type..at least for her.

It is, indeed, a wacky virus.

You just have no idea how it will effect you.
