Coronavirus is a huge, costly problem. About 20,000 people have died so far this month from coronavirus, including at least 900 in the United States. At least 133 Americans died of it today, March 25. Congress is now passing a $2 trillion spending bill in response to it that will triple the budget deficit and make the national debt skyrocket.
But I didnt start writing about coronavirus until a couple weeks ago, when I repeatedly called for the closure of the schools to reduce the spread of the disease and give the healthcare system time to cope.
Why did I wait so long to sound the alarm about coronavirus? Because the media downplayed the problem, and I trusted them, given my lack of expertise in medicine and epidemiology.

Now they’re making up for lost time now that there’s money to be taken for free.
WHAT?! Nonsense! The media are who set this INSANE hysteria reaction frenzy on fire!
President Trump has done a great job so far. The epidemic is just about to getting started here, though. See the number of recoveries?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019%E2%80%9320_coronavirus_pandemic#Epidemiology
United States
Cases 68,568
Deaths 1,035
Recoveries 593
The author is not very bright, just as those in authority decided to close the colleges and allowing the students to go back home and infect their parents and grandparents. The agenda continues...
CDC f—d up
I disagree, if that were the case then where is all the exponential growth?
That is my take as well.
And add into the mix opportunist politicians who see this as a chance to impeach the President again - we have quite a blaze going on.
Thanks CheshireTheCat.
Partisan Media Shills update.
There is no exponential growth. Only early in the first days. This is a bad virus, and exceedingly contagious, but not what the extremists made it out to be. No numbers internationally or here reflect that.
Sorry WXRGina, but I have the habit of skipping the articles and reading the replies (mostly). But I believe, from what you described, I'm aligned with the gist of the message. No, we can't trust the numbers out of China - but I also don't trust the spin from New York, California, or our Media.
Its almost like blasting a headline whenever someone sniffles in this Country.
I guess I'm what one would classify as a 'Flu Bro'. Yes, this is a nasty Flu Bug -- but it isn't the Black Plague, and we should not shutdown our Country and plunge ourselves into a Great Depression because of the Flu.
Just follow the recommendations (frequently wash your hands, don't cough on people, stay home if sick, etc), and get on with life.
Thanks for the link though, I will try to get to it and read it later.
I understand, El Cid. I also avoid reading and watching a lot of stuff on the Internet. This one just happened to grab my attention, and it confirmed my suspicions, as I said. The headline is the gist.
I was horrified for my country and society as a whole of the viral events in the last decades. NOBODY did much of anything. The priorities by government was illegals, entitlements and socialism/globalism among others. One of the great weakness of Western Society is forgetting past/history. (Communist)China forgets nothing and always knows who its enemy is and lives the long plan.
VERY INTERESTING. ..sending to a city counselor here
They talked about impeachment.
A billion people in China on lockdown.
Our leaders were concerned with political theater.
Its doubling every two days. Thats exponential. That is the definition of epidemic.
I think Trump, being a germ guy probably a better than laymans knowledge. When he saw the flu numbers he thought this wouldnt be bad.
Then, the CDC screwed up the testing. They tried to downplay that. I think he was taking the advice of his team. As this author states, you take the experts word.
The ONLY he said that pissed me off was during the first presser he said, Everyone who needs to be tested has been tested. Not quite the accurate. It was more like We used up all of tests.
After the first weekend someone brought him up to date. My guess was Boris Johnson. The report out of the Health ministry was staggering.
Since then he has been batting 1000.
Trump is learning very quickly just how useless the government is I think he is probably SHOCKED!!! The red tape to accomplish anything has to be staggering to him I can see him using the F word several times a day!!
The press deals in misinformation and misdirection. It’s amazing how few people get that. If you want an accurate world view, the press is the least trustworthy place to go.
