Like I said, i imagine they do know and their lack of response is troubling.
If you are a logical person, you would want to know not only the story of a person who took a medicine and got cured, but also a story or a person(s), who did that and nothing happened. That is called a clinical trial. If one had a success, and 99 out of a 100 failed to get cured, than the promising cure is useless. We don’t hear those stories, we hear only about “that guy in Florida”.

Thesis: the Democrats benefit from population dependent on government.
Problem: if Trump and the GOP Senate are successful in ending the crisis, they will get credit. That’s bad in an election year.
Method: scuttle the GOP bill and claim it benefited the rich “as usual.” Ignore the fact that it was written in a bipartisan way and had bipartisan support. Downplay anticipated cures and therapies. It hurts the very people you claim to want to help? See the thesis.
Result: there will be more people out of work and dependent on government. House Democrats think they can win by offering desperate people government programs where the GOP “had only been worried about their rich friends.” They don't see a downside to playing chicken on this.
Never let a crisis go to waste.
People who want to increase government control and a wrecked economy to hurt President Trump. It won’t work though because Trump is handling the battle like a general.
