China and Italy are both fake stats. Korea has tested a million cases and have around a 1/2% mortality.

Korea may have tested a million people, but only (as of 7:30 EDT) has 9,137 total cases, 126 deaths and 3,730 recovered. That is a 1.4% death rate so far. Since the time to death of a patient with a fatal Covid-19 infection is between 2 and 8 weeks, I expect the death rate to climb, since over 6,000 people are still ill.

That figure was 1) using death/case, before the sick had a chance to die, and 2) has more than doubled for that stat, and 3) is based on assuming all sick who don’t die immediately will live, which has not been the case.

Still relatively low, but not nearly so low as that 1/2%.

If the prospective cures pan out, the death/case rate may start receding, but it hasn’t yet.
