Early Tuesday morning, President Trump continued to signal that it is his intention to re-open the U.S. economy and get Americans back to work sooner rather than later. Repeating yesterday’s theme that the government can’t afford to implement a draconian “cure” that is worse than the China Virus, the President issued the following tweet:
Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump Our people want to return to work. They will practice Social Distancing and all else, and Seniors will be watched over protectively & lovingly. We can do two things together. THE CURE CANNOT BE WORSE (by far) THAN THE PROBLEM! Congress MUST ACT NOW. We will come back strong!

For an investment community hungering to see a bottom reached in the stock market indexes, this is a crucial moment in time. There is no way the markets can find their bottom when they have no certainty – or even any real idea – about when business might resume and start getting the economy fully back on-line.
Markets were already soaring today on the prospect of the Democrats caving in and allowing the Senate stimulus measure to move through the process. The President’s move to set a firm target date for beginning to get the economy moving again will only serve to support that positive sentiment among investors longing for some good news.
As usual, President Trump’s sense of timing yesterday and today was impeccable. Be glad he’s your President.

Well, I don’t think he means, “We’ll get back to work starting Easter,” I think he means “We’ll start next week and most of it will be back to near normal by Easter.” (I don’t mean the DOW will be back up to 29K, just that most people will be back to work.) That’s my take.

Wonder if the governors are doing so because number of hospitals and hospital beds has been up to them? Maybe they are afraid of potential lynch mobs.
As usual, Pelosi, Schumer and their sorry ilk will do their best to sabotage it. The Dow is up 1600 point or so today. It will be down 600 points or so today tomorrow.
MSM will have a meltdown. Seems like everyone ignores there is no actual federal shutdown. It is not like Trump has a magic switch he is ready to throw. The country will “re-open” in regions. The problem l see is the Rat Governors are under orders to have their states shut down by the DNC. We could end up with an idiotic red state/ blue sate thing.

should turbocharge the stock market ... it’s started upwards pretty good today, but i believe that the rate of increase will continue to go upwards ...
