During the past nearly half century as Leftism slowly, almost imperceptibly insinuated itself into the Democratic Party, hostility to religion - especially Catholicism - has been one of the partys main tenets.
The irony is that anti-Catholic sentiment exists in the political party of the first and only Catholic president. How times change.
This has manifested itself in several high profile incidents of derogatory comments about people of faith and particularly Catholics. One was Barack Obamas 2008 presidential election campaign featured him infamously referring to Middle American voters in the Rust Belt - now known as Trump Democrats - as those who ... cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
Another example was revealed in a Wikileaks email. A February 10, 2012 email to John Podesta from Sandy Newman, president of an organization called Voices for Progress illustrated this. It is worth noting that Newman founded Voices for Progress in 2009 after a history of social activism. This organization advocates for climate change regulation, education funding and economic opportunity, immigration reform, campaign finance reform etc. He also founded an organization called Project Vote and reportedly hired Barack Obama as the groups Illinois director in 1992.

What a superb article. Well done and it conforms to everything I have seen over the last few decades happening in the Northeast.
It looks like the Democrats have missed their chance to nominate a Cherokee princess for President, but the Republicans actually elected an American Indian as Vice President (Charles Curtis, Herbert Hoover's Vice President).
Democrats can best be understood as neo pagan earth worshipers who sacrifice pre born human life to placate their earth gods. Feminism is at its core is an antifertility cult. Homosexual deviance has its natural home in the Democratic Party.
I would point out that a Kennedy felt the need to distance himself a bit from the RCC to get elected.
He was about as Catholic as the current Pope.
Not going there.
He was a progressive for his day, which even early progressives were bad for being opposed to what this nation was founded to be, but he wasnt nearly what the Democrats have become (Trump is more like him than they are).
So maybe he wasnt much in the way of the RCC but how he wasnt much would be different than how this pope seems to be not much, for he wasnt a socialist (among other things).
Oh agreed and he was definitely anti communist. Someone on another thread said another comparison about him a while ago and I couldn’t recall who he compared him to and the Pope just popped into my head as someone not exactly Catholic these days.
