Italian virologist says open borders & fears over “racism” crippled Italy’s response to coronavirus.
Professor of Virology and Microbiology at the University of Padova Dr. Giorgio Pal told CNN that measures imposing travel restrictions and border controls were taken too late due to fears over political correctness. “There was a proposal to isolate people coming from the epicenter, coming from China,” Pal told CNN. “Then it became seen as racist, but they were people coming from the outbreak.”
Italy is now the hardest-hit country in the world in terms of coronavirus deaths, with 63,927 confirmed cases and 6,077 people losing their lives.
But it seems that the official number of 63,927 infected Italians is a lot bigger, ten times bigger.
The head of the agency that is collating the data Angelo Borrelli said that it was ‘credible’ to suggest that as many as 640,000 people could have been infected because only a fraction of them have received the necessary tests.
“A ratio of one certified case out of every 10 is credible,” Angelo Borrelli, the head of the Civil Protection Agency, told La Repubblica newspaper, indicating he believed as many as 640,000 people could have been infected in the country.
Testing for the disease has often been limited to people seeking hospital care, with health services stretched to the limit by the scale of the outbreak.
The missing cases could help to explain Italy’s high death rate of around 9.0 percent, higher than the rest of Europe and the U.S.
If he is right the mortality rate goes down to 0.9 percent.
The number of new deaths has come down from a world record 793 on Saturday to 651 on Sunday and 601 on Monday.
The number of new officially registered infections also fell from 6,557 on Saturday to 4,789 on Monday.
A new study found that 86% of coronavirus cases are asymptomatic. The carriers have no idea they are infected but can still spread it.
This study lowers the mortality rate more.

This is an Economic Takedown. The Kung Flu is a mild Corona virus, with a low mortality rate. The international banking cartels have been propping up the fiat currency Ponzi scheme for the last couple of decades so the looting could continue. Really? How convenient, to try to downplay the threat with imaginary cases to inflate the denominator so that the apparent death rate goes down. I'm surprised a scientist is even suggesting doing such a thing.
You can tell if people developed the disease and never showed symptoms, by doing a blood test called a titer. If the titer shows they have antibodies against Covid-19 and were never ill, then they are confirmed to have been infected. Without doing such a study on the general population, there is utterly NO basis on which to claim that there are high numbers of undetected cases.
You weren’t saying a thing when thousands were dying of the flu.
Humans die, it’s sad but a part of life. So far, the # of deaths in the US from this thing, that’s likely been here since December, hasn’t even hit a blip for top items of death here in the states or any other county for that matter. Shutting down our entire economy - to “bend the curve” - is far worse and will kill way more people.

During yesterday’s presser Dr Birx clearly stated that based on CDC data (for the US) the mortality rate is ~0.6-0.7% without even calculating in the asymptomatic cases. She stated that the asymptomatic cases are also the biggest group, thus the true mortality rate is much lower than ~0.6-0.7%.
This is the same thing I’ve been spamming all over this forum for ages! There are far more infections than people think, and the death rate is far lower than people think.
The “deaths / cases” stat is very misleading because there are tons of asymptomatic, minor, and untested infections that are never counted as a case.

The study itself says that models showed the 86% of infections were undocumented in China during the time when China was pretending there wasn’t an outbreak, was taking NO quarantining and travel restrictions, and that there was no human-human transmission. It also says that within two weeks that was down to 35% (from 600%, down to 50%).
Italy may or may not be following a similar pattern, but if it is, it would suggest that the *10 theory might have been true when the nation was shaming those who would refrain from “licking the rock” in the form of unmasking and hugging. It should not be anywhere near that anymore, though it could still be high with the system collapse.
I hope those that spread fear and panic here, saying millions would die, are forever banned from this site. I noticed they are a lot more quiet lately I guess they accomplished what they set out to do.

Sigh ... you know, engineers or doctors not having the best grammar was one thing (not many English / Rhetoric requirements past sophomore, or even freshman, year) but “journalists” these days aren’t doing so hot in that regard either.... that sentence in the quote should probably say “real numbers” or else talk about official numbers being smaller than likely, not larger.
Still, between over reporting CV19 deaths to include all of those where the antibodies were found and not just those where it was the dominant cause rather than a complication to something else, as well as under reporting of those infected because of a lack of testing: this virus is far less lethal than many imagine.
