Politicians and anti-gun people have been telling us for the longest time that we dont need guns. But right now, a lot of people are truly scared, and they can make that decision themselves."
The wise made such decisions for themselves a long time ago.
People should start red-flagging them.
The wise stocked up on such things years ago.
Back in 2002, a house guest, a West Coast "Liberal," upon learning that we have guns in our home, said this: "Oh! I think such things are best left to the police!"
My wife replied: "Out here in the Middle of Nowhere? I don't think so."
Not just liberal states.
Gun buying is up elsewhere, too.
I like it.
How do you suppose one makes conservatives out of liberals? Like many other things, rights strengthen with use.
Grandpa’s Dbl.
Yup.
My "liberal" relatives in California are blaming Trump for everything (as usual). They're angry that he's keeping them from leaving their homes--and everything else they can think of. Such delusional, irrational, un-pragmatic thinking is in itself dangerous, but that's not all.
I'm not particularly worried about the virus, which evidently is highly communicable but has a low mortality rate, but I am very worried about the panic--and also the economy.
Trump's right: when the virus threat subsides, the economy will come roaring back with unprecedented energy and to unprecedented heights, but until then, large numbers of people could be out of work, suddenly impoverished, and desperate.
If supplies become short and people become desperate, and civil unrest could follow.
The hoarding is a means of staying holed-up in one's home. That's why there's a run on such things as toilet paper.
I do not want to add to the panic--so I hesitate to make this observation--but the US population is sharply divided along political/cultural lines. If civil unrest should reach a certain point, the declaration of martial law could become necessary; however, that in itself could exacerbate the political/cultural division.
I'm sure that President Trump and his advisors have already considered this and planned whatever pre-emptive action is possible.
Any thoughts?
Checked my carry weapon and ammo and started carrying my spare mag again...
Can’t tell ya. Haven’t seen it happen too often.
But your point is certainly a good one.
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Tuesday the Trump administration is working with Congress on a plan that would send checks to Americans in an effort to blunt the coronavirus pandemics effect on the economy.
We are looking at sending checks to Americans immediately, Mnuchin told reporters. Americans need cash now and the president wants to get cash now. And I mean now, in the next two weeks.
We want to make sure Americans get money in their pockets quickly, Mnuchin said at a White House briefing on the virus. We want to make sure small business owners have access to the funds. We want to make sure airlines, hotels. We have an entire package.
