Code of Vets Fights for Veterans Here at Home

Now a charity with nationwide reach, the nonprofit Code of Vets alleviates hardships faced by thousands of Americans who’ve come home from honorable military service. The cases they handle range from evictions and foreclosures to post-traumatic stress disorder and other medical issues. Yet their effort began not even three years ago as a mere Twitter page, recognizing the life and memory of one devoted patriot, Sergeant Danny Smiley.

A Bronze Star Medal recipient who served in Vietnam and was exposed to agent orange, Smiley lost his battle with PTSD at the age of 57. His daughter is Gretchen Smith, herself a former senior airman, who started the Twitter account that would become Code of Vets.

“It started very organically just based on my dad’s story,” Smith told HC. “It was hard to put it out there but I just wanted to let veterans know, ‘You’re not alone. There are many of us who walked that path either ourselves or with our family, and we’re stronger together; we can figure this out together.’”

Gretchen Smith is a sincere and hard working lady with a heart of absolute gold. Her father would/will be so proud of her.

There was another “charity,” through Bill Pulte (a Soros and Jack Dorsey CEO of Twitter venture through an app they were forcing people to use) that tried to use Gretchen and Code Of Vets to make money off of their popularity. Fortunately, it all came to be viewed/known as the scam it was and they parted ways.

This place took in $791,366 and spent only $6,390 for admin costs, with the balance going towards assistance. If my math is right, 99% went to vets.

Now there is a huge problem with this. Some democrat is missing out literally a golden opportunity here. Think of the money that could be pocketed or sent to the DNC. I wonder how long it will be before some rat strong arms his way into this goldmine and takes over?
