Stick a fork in them they will be bankrupt in 6 months. I buy my gun supplies at the shooting range.
I thought we believe in free enterprise and capitalism, so Dick’s can do what they want and any of us can do what we want. I was in a Dick’s a few weeks ago and it was fairly busy, but I noticed the hunting section was empty, but then this isn’t hunting season anyway.
It was just scary black rifles and some ammo previously. Now it’s going to be everything, apparently.
The thing is for those that do, Dicks is being one. They stopping the sales of guns to protest gun violence is like me having my tubes tied because the woman down the street has too many kids; or for a guy having a vasectomy for the same reason.
Some good deals then ????
Dick's lost my business long ago. I still laugh at anyone who shops there for branded/licensed apparel produced in Pacific-rim facilities.
NEVER WAS IN ONE.
Rumor was they destroyed some AR’s they had in stock rather than sell evil guns to folks. Anyone? Buehler?
Toys Are US will now share an unsuccessful marketing plan with Dicks.
Well...... Bye!
A natural result of caving 2 years ago....
I refuse to ever set foot in one. I don’t do business with gun grabbers. I dropped Bank of America and Turbo Tax for supporting gun grabbing as well.
’ Dicks Sporting Goods has announced it will now eliminate the hunting section and all firearms from a majority of its stores.’
Then they’ll be filing Chapter 11 Bankruptcy! This process was already starting when they SHOT themselves in the foot by giving guns the middle finger last year!
Hunting’s been dying out since the 80’s. X’s and Millennials have been getting their hunter mojo fulfilled with video games. Another area of change.
Golf courses now do soccer and disc golf. Bowling is about disco light parties. See many 12-year old boys out fishing these days? Playing pick-up baseball?
Dick’s Sporting Goods is making the same mistake that Kmart did.
There are plenty of places to buy guns, any guns, any amount of guns if you want.
If Dick's doesn't want any revenue from gun sales, so be it. It must not be hurting them, since they had a good quarter. Boycotts never work, but if you aren't comfortable buying from them, then don't. There are companies I don't patronize for various reasons even though I know my paltry dollars make absolutely no difference to their bottom line.
Well the thing is, not selling guns because of the hysteria will put off other people from not even going there regardless if they were going to buy a gun or not. It’s like if Walmart stopped selling bacon because the muzzies were upset. Or something.
I never did go to Dick’s very much. They took over the Galyan’s store here years ago and
—stopped selling handguns
—cut the camping section about in half
—and eliminated the climbing wall (popular with the kids).
I stopped completely when they took out the ARs.
Now I only go there to pass through from the parking lot to the rest of the mall or to use the escalator.
Buncha Dick’s.
