Deserted streets. The shops shut. A 6pm curfew. That's Italy now... so how did they get coronavirus so wrong?

Britons, brace yourselves. The scenes I have witnessed unfolding here in Italy could, sooner or later, be coming your way.
Soldiers and policemen patrolling the streets. Food stores with empty shelves and only three people allowed in at a time. Flights cancelled and police checks at railway stations to ensure your travel is absolutely necessary.
Too late, some say. Too much, say others. Whatever your take, as of yesterday, this was the reality for 60 million people living in Italy.

That’s exactly what I heard on Mark Simone’s show this morning. His everyday caller, Vincent, said that there are disgusting sweat shops all over the Milan area making knockoff clothes. Filled with Chinese.

Use baby wipes in place of toilet paper. They take up less space, one wipe is usually enough to do the job, and they are in stock.

Note Italy isn’t releasing any demographic data about the victims.

A number of years ago a friend of mine went to northern Italy to work for Augusta Helicopter and while there his wife delivered a baby in a hospital. A nurse came by and his wife told her there were no towels in the bathroom. The nurse asked, "Didn't you bring your own?" Later, his wife told someone there was no toilet paper in the bathroom. You guessed it: "Didn't you bring your own?" The good news is that his wife and baby were fine. Back in the Stalin era, Westerners who visited the Soviet Union were advised to bring their own toilet paper.

Use baby wipes in place of toilet paper. But don't flush them. They don't break down in septic tanks or septic systems.

” anyone above the age of 80 with 1 additional health risk in Italy is denied hospitalization”
I heard in one interview the Doctors are having to determine who lives and who does not live. They ran out of resources to keep people alive. It is hitting younger people too.
Really feel bad for the Doctors having to make that decision. Very hard to live with.

But don't flush them. They don't break down in septic tanks or septic systems.Very true and very excellent advise. I would suggest a "Diaper Genie" to dispose of used wipes. It will cut down on smell and the attraction of pests, and you can dispose of used wipes in your trash.

How did Italy get it wrong? Open bborders. Trying to stop exposure by isolating sick citizens is silly with thousands of migrants pouring over the borders unchecked.

Americans really need to adopt the bidet: no more toilet paper. Also, a cleaner butt. A hand-held sprayer in the shower works just as well.

Figure out something to do with the wipes that doesnt involve flushing them. They dont really break down, and along with fat form huge clogs that are difficult to remove.
