“I think a lot of pressure will be on Bernie to drop out. Maybe before the next debate. They just need Joe to make it to the Convention and then he can step aside for health reasons and the DNC can tell us who they have selected as the nominee.”

Bingo, that is the plan! But who?

Personally, I think the Democrats realize that Trump will be re-elected. The Democrat nominee isn’t going to be someone who will win, but someone who will bring out enough voters to keep the House for the Democrats.

I think it will be a woman. Probably a black woman. My guess is Michelle. Hillary is also a possibility — too old and sick to serve effectively, but a lot of Democrats would like the chance to come out one more time and show their support.

My long shot guess is that Mitt Romney could run as a Democrat. He would attract Never Trumpers, and, since he’d be the Democrat nominee, the Democrats would support him against Trump. His policies are very Left and very anti-Trump. He could do well for them — and position himself as a “unity” candidate.
