Why Elizabeth Warren thinks she can still win the nomination
Politico ^ | March 1, 2020 | Alex Thompson

Elizabeth Warren can win debates, but not states: There’s a chance she will walk away from Super Tuesday having not carried any of the first 18 contests, including in her home of Massachusetts.

Yet she, her campaign, and their close allies say she’s in the race all the way to the convention, despite her latest drubbing in South Carolina on Saturday. They insist she still has a path to the nomination, narrow as it is.

Warren’s strategy, laid out in conversations with more than a half-dozen of her aides and close allies, relies largely on outlasting several of her less well-financed rivals and trying to collect their supporters when they drop out. One aide told POLITICO that the campaign thinks multiple candidates will withdraw in the next seven to 10 days, shaking up the race.

In what world does she think she won any debate?!?!?!

At this point she’s either vying for a VP slot, or she’s taking some blood money from the DNC, to depress Bernies numbers... not sure which.

Its been my assumption the impeachment was to throw the nomination to a radical leftists, and lose 2020 so they can moderate... I believe the intended beneficiary was to be Warren, not Bernie... but Bernie’s support is too solid.. and warren can’t crack double digits as long as he is around... So all she can do is depress his numbers at this point, there is no path to the nomination for her....

What’s her best finish so far? 4th?... With Bernie in the contest, there is no space left for another “progressive”...

The strategy is to siphon just enough votes from Burnie to keep him from a first-round win of the nomination, causing the superdelegates (all of whom have been approached by Mike Bumbleberg) to steer the nomination AWAY from Burnie for good and all.

Who actually gets nominated at that point is a matter of indifference to the superdelegates. Just not any of the Sanderinistas.

They would gamble on the loss to Trump in 2020 in exchange for a much more credible position in 2024, when the Republicans have to scramble for a suitable replacement for Donald Trump, and that looks a little scarce right now.

(In case you wonder - “Burnie”, as in burning all the bridges behind you, not allowing for retreat or anyone to follow. Mike “Bumbleberg” is self explanatory.)

I don't know. The Democrats crowned a fake black man. Why not a fake Indian?

If the convention deadlocks, she can always play the woman card.

I’d bet that she is well financed by the anti-Bernie crowd to stay in and siphon votes.

Suspend the meet and greet at the outhouse casino, Lizzy Warpath from the Tax & Spend tribe. Take the head feathers off. Sell the cookbook or the oversupply of Guaca bowls.

(please clap)

Delusional or not, I want her to stay in this race as long as possible, raise as much money as possible and expend as much effort as possible.

It’s all a benefit to Trump and the GOP if she does.

She wasn’t wrong about being fired a long time ago. Paperwork in a government bureaucracy moves quite slowly. For her sake she is right. It just arrived. Good news for her.

Good analysis. May I add: she’d doing the DNC a big favor by draining votes from Bernie even if she doesn’t get nominated, so she may already have been (implicitly or explicitly) promised Secretary of the Treasury in the Biden (or anyone else but Bernie) administration, if she keeps going all the way to the convention.

That might even have been the point of her candidacy from the get go.

Ted Cruz is the only one in memory that picked his VP ahead of getting the nomination.

And it was all over for her once that trap door opened...

Too many overlook the fact that Liz Warren is just plain unlikable.

Many refer to her as a harridan (too kind), the ex-wife everyone wants to leave behind (I wouldn’t know) and at a minimum, a well documented liar - who will say **anything** to get what she wants. This, of course, is the classic definition of a Democratic politician.

That she is angling for a VP slot seems obvious to me. The part that should scare you/everyone is her teaming up with Quid Pro Joe - and thru the effort of massive amounts of fraud, actually squeak out a win.

The nightmare scenario would be plugs vapor-locking early in the term leaving her and whatever lunatic she picks for a new VP would be in charge long enough to destroy the economy and plunge the world into another massive Depression....or worse.

Make no mistake, the amount of fraud seen and unseen in this upcoming election will be epic.....

Two ultra White leftists from New England? Nope. I agree it will be a woman who will be the RATS VP candidate, but I believe it will be a woman of color. Maybe Cumala Harris? A longshot would be Moochelle. I think she would be more likely on the 2024 ticket.

It’s so hard to pick the WORST candidate of the DNC. Each makes such a compelling case!

She’s advertising on TV here in Utah, a Super Tuesday state. Bernie also, but not Biden.
