All of the Dem candidates are imbeciles, not just Joe Biden.
He’s just the only one with a good excuse.

America and China’s economies are in fact inextricably linked. Theirs feeds on ours like a parasite. Like a thousand mosquitos and one elephant, courtesy of Bill Clinton. They don’t have to bother with labor laws, health concerns, pollution standards, or anything that keeps American products so expensive. And so our workers get screwed.

I always felt that our relationships with China and India were backwards. I’m glad we’re fixing that, now.

Great article. Thanks.

Watched the Washington mini series on History. Thought it was a very fair assessment of him. Even the black female historians were fair to him.

By the end you realize he was Julius Caesar and Cincinnatus all rolled into one.

I have a question for Mike Bloomberg, given all of his billions, his vast business holdings and his inability to use Turbotax: given that fellow billionaire Donald Trump also has vast business holdings and an inability to use TurboTax, do you think that the constant hounding by Democratic politicians and the media for him to release his tax returns has been fair treatment?

He talked about the importance of dealing with Red China, as if this interdependence is a given, because, as he said, “our economies are inextricably linked.”

What Bloomberg meant is his fortunes are inextricably linked with China and Trump's new trade deals with China are killing him...He's trying to hoodwink the people into thinking our prosperity is somehow connected to China...

I have no argument as to the insidious nature of economic interdependence with China.

I disagree, however, with the idea that the Cold War political opening is the cause. Getting that wrong leads to the wrong solutions.

The modern Chinese industrial economy arose from Hong Kong and Taiwan and not from U.S. policy. It was family and political chains from HK & Taiwan into Shanghai and southeastern China that led to the supply chain move into China directly, not U.S. policy.

Of course, the Chinese government allowed it, perhaps in part in reaction to liberalization of US relations, but not because of it.

Additionally, US companies willfully followed HK and Taiwan into China, as they had been outsourcing consumer products to those two nations already and eagerly supported the move to cheaper labor in China proper.

So the question becomes, where to next for outsourcing? I should hope that US companies learn that Chinese and other 3rd world sourcing is ultimately expensive and move back into domestic production wherever possible (made unaffordable by the US leftist agenda). Still, so much cheaper in other nations, just a matter of which ones can support all the webs that have contributed to the efficiency of the Chinese supply chains.
