More Sanctuary City Madness – Nation’s First Supervised Drug Injection Site Will Be Opened Next Week

Philadelphia had emerged as one of the largest thorns in the Trump administration’s side. It wore its sanctuary reputation like a badge of honor, and its leaders, including Kenney and District Attorney Larry Krasner, continued to find ways to outmaneuver ICE’s enforcement efforts.

Like their sanctuary laws are not enough now they are ready to open supervised drug injection sites. The nation’s first supervised drug injection site will open next week in South Philadelphia, the site’s operators said Tuesday within hours of a federal judge’s entering a final ruling that the proposed facility would not violate federal law.

The project was spearheaded by the nonprofit group Safehouse, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Other Sanctuary cities have also been contemplating opening such sites where addicts can shoot up heroin or other illegal drugs under medical supervision. Democratic New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is backing such a facility while San Francisco is also interested. Proponents argue that the sites are a form of “harm reduction” while opponents say they perpetuate addiction.

The District Attorney Larry Krasner tweeted:

Once again, for the folks who can’t see or hear past their Trumpian egos:

Harm reduction SAVES LIVES.

PEOPLE get involved ASAP! Go to your state representatives and do research before voting for them. This to me is common sense. These people don’t care about these addicts. They are getting funding from the state which is probably going in their pockets for other things!

This is a really bad idea! This will only facilitate and enable addiction. But hey, if it helps control people, Soros is all for it! He's the devil as far as I'm concerned!

This great stupid PC reality earns multiple Darwin Awards - Removing Drug addicts from the breeding pool is a good thing for the rest of the world.

("Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge." - Charles Darwin)

The Darwin Awards are a tongue-in- cheek honor, originating in Usenet newsgroup discussions around 1985. They recognize individuals who have supposedly contributed to human evolution by selecting themselves out of the gene pool via death or sterilization by their own actions.

Some parts of America are already knee-deep in the commode just waiting for someone to pull the flush lever

Yet there seems to be no comprehensive way of treating and curing these people of their addictions. Gee, these liberal Dem types really do care about people, don’t they?

Philadelphia has been a Democrat slum city for decades, so policies like this come as no surprise. It’s a hellhole like Baltimore possibly even worse.

We need a conservative group to fund the family’s lawsuit against the city after the first fatal overdose.

How inhumane of Philly. Surely they will shortly be acquiring the illegal drugs on behalf of the addicts to ensure the quality and have the taxpayers of Philly pay for the illegal drugs so as to not burden the addicts.

I’ll have to send this to my druggie BIL. Is there a residency requirement?

I guess the government will start to sell heroin in league with the Mexican cartels for the “safety” of the addicts, making sure the product is “pure”.

"That's odd. I thought they said there were going to be drug transactions going on at this location. I've been here all morning and haven't seen a single druggie!"

In a civilized society, these addicts would be given the choice of jail or rehab.

I guess Philadelphia isn't exactly civilized society.

They could learn a lot from their neighbor to the east in RI...I remember watching a documentary about this: https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2018/08/25/rhode-island-opioids-inmates-219594

Did the Philadelphia Inquirer mention Fast Eddie grabbed a seat on the Safehouse Board of Directors? There was talk he invited the governor. Any mention of that?

Rubbish - when did lack of a clean needle ever stop a heroin addict?

Great idea.

Lure them there in one place for DEA to arrest them.

Like a mousetrap.
