If I had to guess this is fake news as it seems like a huge strategic blunder. Calling more attention to the stone verdict makes the president’s case an sets this up a miscarriage of justice so large the president is morally obliged to right this travesty. All while setting themselves up to be the reason for judicial reform and en banc impeachment of entire courts then reconstituting them. Which needs to happen. Let’s call it comprehensive judicial reform en banc impeachments of entire circuit courts, elimination of fisa courts, the elimination of national injunctions issued by federal judges in and districts outside of their own on cases not pending in front of them
Certainly if any of the appellate level justices participate in this travesty, then Stone’s right to a fair hearing of his case is hopelessly compromised at the appellate level. I would hope that none of them is so stupid as to participate. If I were any of the attorneys who ever plead a case for the President in the future, the first thing I would query a Federal Judge would be did you participate in this conference call. If so, I would move immediately for recusal for bias regardless of what the judge might say as to what position he/she may claim was taken in the call. The judge’s mere participation puts their impartiality into question.
