I was in Jr. High School in the mid-1960s. The girls who offered to beat me up because the boys they liked had paid some attention to me were all white girls, from blue-collar families.

This stuff isn’t new. It’s just less restrained, now.

I’m saying that the impulses were there; but respect for teachers and authority and fear of punishment kept things in line.

Philly public schools, class of 88 - White girls throw down and brawl with best/worst of them.

Impulse control IMO is the largest factor in outcomes like this brawl. Although Blacks as a group may have/present the poorest impulse control, I know way too many White women that would sock you in the jaw for “dissin them”.

Over time, people self aggregate to the point of shifting the atmosphere or culture of an area and behavior that was shunned is instead reinforced.

Kensington & Fishtown in Philly, hard-core white trash hoods when I lived there now have changed from enough hipsters moving in a tipping the balance.
