President Trump attended the Opportunity Now Summit in Charlotte on Friday, where he announced the launch of “Opportunity Now” — a brand new campaign to revitalize America's underserved communities.

In one of the more touching moments, formerly homeless army veteran, Tony Rankins, took the stage to thank President Trump for his work in creating "Opportunity Zones," which he credits for allowing him to get back on his feet.

"I was homeless and, due to the fact that I know how it feels, and I know sometimes when you're down you don't feel like getting up," Rankins said, adding further “but with this bill that's been passed, [there's] going to be a lot of opportunity for a lot of people to not be homeless and to get back on their feet and to go back with their families. And I would just like to thank the President of the United States for doing this."

Thank you for posting this story.
Every so often, I need a reminder to be more ,,what’s the word? More compassionate. Becoming “Homeless” can happen to any of us, and at any point in our lives.

In my area of North. Cal. there have been lots of brush fires over the last four years. No one even counts how many folks have lost their families, homes, jobs, cars, pets, medications, hidden savings. I have to remember, there, but for the grace of God go I.

I watched that whole speech it was incredible. Anyone watching has to know President Trump loves every American, not because of what he says, but because of what he has done.

I believe Trump also likes the challenge of taking a big problem on and is proud when he can turn a bad situation around. He always says he didn’t do this to solve little problems. He wanted to tackle big problems. He loves America and Americans.

I learned one thing a long time ago. If you are a veteran looking for work, never check the “are you a veteran” box.
