As you know, Sen. Mitt Romney yesterday became the first senator in history to vote to remove a president of his own party from office, and he received plenty of Democrat and media praise for that.
.
.
"I was still disappointed that not more of the Republicans were willing to take the stand that Mitt Romney took." Hillary Clinton responded to President Trump's acquittal following his impeachment hearings

“Mitt is just a swell guy. The Democrats are lucky to have him”.

That’s right. He’s a good Democrat mole.

McConnel needs to strip of him all committees and Republicans should not discuss anything with him.

Louie Gohmert of the House is wearing a pin that says “QUIT MITT”.

Mittens has sold his soul to the devil. Good riddance and rot in hell

A soundbite by some MSM idiot on Todd Herman's sitting-in for Rush show had him saying Mitt was sincerely, humbly living by the solemn oath he swore to but not one of the other GOP in the Senate lived by their oath. So he's supposed to be an angelic visitor to earth or something?

Gimme a break!

There are hundreds of them, they are called Democrats. Romney checked the wrong box and only poses as a Republican

That “army” was down to just one yesterday. They’re opportunists, and know on which side their bread is buttered, so they behaved. Romney is the same, only he guessed wrong. Now he’s screwed.

Ok let’s hear the qualifiers for the bet.

Does he stay a senator and change parties?

Does he decide to move back to Massachusetts or Michigan?

Stay in Utah as a senator and change to a democrat?

No, unfortunately I don’t see a scenario where short of jail-time him doing anything other than what he had done for the last three years, waffle according to the political winds.

Harry Reid’s ability to be a democrat as from the need for him to pander to the union vote in Nevada, no such reasoning exists in Utah.

The only reason Romney would stay in politics is if he intends to pull a Perot and attempt to split the Republicans by becoming an independent, which is an outlie, though he has thrown chances before. Perhaps he had been told to lie upon the sword again.

2024 it’s a way away. By then Utah will either be purple or blue, just like Arizona and perhaps Idaho. Then he may stay on as an Republican or even an independent. The senator he replaced didn’t retire until 84, he is 72, that’s some time left on the clock.

26 Sept 2019: TheFederalist: Top Romney Adviser Worked With Hunter Biden On Board Of Ukrainian Energy Company
By Erielle Davidson
According to web archives, top Mitt Romney adviser Joseph Cofer Black, who publicly goes by “Cofer Black,” joined Burisma’s board of directors while Hunter Biden was also serving on the board...
According to The New Yorker, Hunter joined Burisma’s board in April of 2014 and remained on it until he declined to renew his position this past May. Meanwhile, according to Burisma’s website, Black was appointed in February of 2017 and continues to serve on its board. The timelines would indicate that Black and Biden worked together at Burisma, and indeed, web archives from late 2017 show Black and Biden listed simultaneously on the board...

Black joined the CIA in 1974 and eventually climbed the ranks to become director of the National Counterterrorism Center from 1999 to 2002. In 2002, President George W. Bush appointed him ambassador at large and coordinator for counterterrorism. He later worked at Blackwater as a vice chairman before joining Romney’s campaign as a “special adviser” on Romney’s Foreign Policy and National Security Advisory Team in October of 2011. In 2017, Black joined the board of Burisma...

Romney as an independent presidential candidate, taking votes from Trump?

How many Trump supporters/ Republican voters, would vote for a 3rd party or independent Romney ???

Romney will be honored by the MSNBC crowd for a few days, then they will go back to hating him as they hate all Republicans. I wonder if he thinks his impeachment vote really will keep them on his side?

“How long before Romney caucuses with the Democrats or even changes his party affiliation?”

Maybe just before the Democrat nominating convention this year. The Democrat leaders and rich donors have this problem. They definitely don’t want Bernie or Warren. Buttigieg and Bloomberg don’t have a chance (although they want Bloomberg’s money). So they are looking around.

Hillary? Maybe. But probably not - too tarnished. Romney? He could come riding in on his white horse and be their savior (they hope).

I don’t think Romney did his little act all on his lonesome. Seems too well-packaged, with his little speech about religion, and high morals, and all that. And the media are all prepared and in the bag for him too. Even Hillary is singing his praises.

I’m glad that most Republicans are not like Romney. He’s a loser and would not fight, not even against Candy Crowley. At bottom, that’s his real problem. He can’t abide the fact that Trump whooped Hillary’s ass. He looks at Trump and realizes this truth and he can’t live with himself, hence his acts of self-abasement all the while thinking he’s a man of principle. He sides with those who kicked him in the face and back stabs the ones who supported him.
