The following is a Public Service Announcement for Democrats:
But not soooo far left that you go off the road and into the weeds. If the trajectory is wrong youll be unsafe at any speed.
All the Democrats had to do was look normal, and they couldn't even do that. Megan Fox

Whoopi Goldberg said "I'm sorry, I thought the Medal of Freedom was supposed to go to people who actually did stuff." So, I decided to look up Obama's Presidential Medal of Freedom recipients. To name a few...Funny, I thought Whoopi said the Medal of Freedom was supposed to go to people who actually did stuff. Why were the above individuals given it then?
- Ellen DeGeneres
- Robert De Niro
- Tom Hanks
- Lorne Michaels
- Robert Redford
- Bruce Springsteen
They don’t make cars like that anymore, nor do they make Dems like that anymore (JFK types who actually had a few right of center beliefs)
They always seem to be popular culture oriented:
James “Eubie” Blake 1981 Ronald Reagan
Kate Smith 1982 Ronald Reagan
Mabel Mercer 1983 Ronald Reagan
Ernest Jennings “Tennessee Ernie” Ford 1984 Ronald Reagan [34]
‘Count’ Basie 1985 Ronald Reagan Posthumous
Frank Sinatra 1985 Ronald Reagan
Vladimir Horowitz 1986 Ronald Reagan
Mstislav Rostropovich 1987 Ronald Reagan
Meredith Wilson 1987 Ronald Reagan Posthumous
Pearl Bailey 1988 Ronald Reagan
And W gave it to Bill Cosby.
I forgot that DJT gave it to Alan Page in 2018
That is interesting, especially that those were Reagan’s selections. Thanks for looking that up.
It is tragic that pop culture is so richly rewarded.
I don’t find it tragic. In a way, pop culture is probably the most unifying thing we have as a country, outside of sports. When my wife (who is Colombian by background) asked me why I watched so many sports I told her ‘did it occur to you that sports IS America’s culture?’.
She looked kind of surprised at that. Now she’s a BIG fan of sports. And surprisingly, she loves Hockey the most, followed by Golf, Lacrosse and Basketball.
I would hope there are many such people on the list of recipients. It is, after all, named the "Medal of Freedom."
There were TWO Medals of Freedom, you are thinking there is one. The Presidential Medal of Freedom is at the President’s discretion. The other one was what you are saying and was started by Truman.
I did not know that! Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
