Up to this point, the coronavirus outbreak has been primarily confined to China. Yes, there have been isolated cases all over the globe, and that has mostly been from people flying from China back to their home countries. But overall, the vast majority of the confirmed cases have been in urban areas inside China. However, that could potentially now be changing. Alarming reports are starting to come in from all across the world, and the number of potential cases in the United States is definitely quite startling. As you will see below, all testing for the coronavirus is currently being done at the CDC, and this is really slowing things down. So for the moment local officials all over the nation have suspected cases that they are monitoring, but they cant confirm anything officially until they hear back from the CDC.
So you will see the words possible and potential a lot in the stories that I am about to share with you. In the end, it is quite likely that many of these cases will be confirmed by the CDC. But we wont know for certain until the test results are made public.

I wonder what percent of people recover from this virus.
In the Philippines and India now. Not goods
For the benefit of readers here, given such a potentially deadly topic, why not publish the whole thing here?
Why did you excerpt your own blog?
it has a fatality rate of between 3 and 4%.
that is the only number i have heard. 8000 cases 140 deaths.
math checks out, unless there is incorrect information going around.
Here we go...
People in general, and in government in particular, don’t take communicable diseases very seriously - or so it seems, based on the last several outbreaks of serious diseases. The correct manner to prevent the spread of this disease, which is related closely to SARS, is to quarantine EVERYONE known to have been anywhere in China, and most especially in Wuhan. But our (f’ing stupid and beclowned) State Dept. just goes ahead and brings a couple hundred people into the country directly from Wuhan after “checking them out” before boarding - this for a disease that may manifest no symptoms AT ALL for as much as 14 days, while being communicable the entire time. Another step would be to ban ALL flights from China, and ban the entry of anyone who has been on a flight with as much as a single person from China.
But, NOOOOO, we suffer from Normalcy Bias, so nothing can possibly go this wrong because it hasn’t (recently, that is - check out the Spanish Flu of 100 years ago and various outbreaks of the Black Death)...until something does go dreadfully wrong.
Luckily the vast majority of potential cases have turned out not to be.
This Investment Watch writer is trying to ride the hysteria to get views.
The ‘potential’ is old news and the scare tactics are riddled with bovine excrement.
As of today there are 5 cases reported in the US and there so far zero deaths.
Meanwhile, the seasonal flu has killed thousands.
I had something. Non stop hacking, puked all water and slept pretty much nonstop for 72 straight hours. Whenever up, had to shower to heat core and humidify lungs. Just finished bowl of oatmeal, first meal since monday morning. Most unpleasant.
You don’t have a fatality rate that is accurate until a confirmed case has been resolved one way (cured, safe to go home) or the other (dead). I would venture to say (without firm knowledge) that most of those 8,000 cases haven’t been resolved one way or the other just yet. So you have 140 dead...and if 4,000 cases have been resolved you are looking at 3.5% mortality - right in the middle of your range. OTOH, if only 2,000 cases have been resolved, the mortality rate is 7% (!!!!), and it is 14% if only 1,000 cases have been resolved.
I honestly don’t know if there are any firm figures on how many people the Chinese say (and we know how much to believe THAT) have fully recovered. However, a few items that I have read on the internet (and we know how much to believe THAT, too) seem to indicate a recovery rate of about 50%. That is way too alarming...but seems to match the obviously panicked actions of the Chinese in quarantining 50 million people with their army and in rushing to build 2 new hospitals in 10 days. No one does that for fun - their government is panicked, and (so far) only they know why. Oh, and as an aside that has absolutely NOTHING to do with this matter, they have a bio-weapons facility 20 miles from Wuhan and a Chinese spy apparently stole some coronavirus from a Canadian lab not too long ago. Yeah, nothing to see here, move along.
This is BS, the author has no basis from which to make this claim. More likely that the opposite will be the case. The CDC needs to get these testing kits out to other facilities and not become the bottleneck in making the determination. This only creates undue hysteria by them being the only ones with the ability to perform testing.

Cases of Corona keep popping up everywhere.
Every university in america has Chinese students. Arizona State has one of the confirmed cases.
Folks something stinks about all this!! Why now so near to election time? This has to do with bring down our economy and the president since nothing has worked so far including impeachment!! This stinks like a collusion between china and the mediaVOMITS across the globe! The progressives globalist are being rejected left and right, thanks to president Trump ..so THEY MUST DESTROY HIM one way or the other..people mean nothing to the rich and powerful! I really believe this is a biochemical warfare virus produced in China and purposely released! If so and true then it was released very timely! But it won’t be successful because God’s grace is shed on His believer..so I’m trusting!
Yep. The virus has spread all over the world. The CDC said the flu typically kills 12,000 to 56,000 people in the U.S. in a year. Show me the bodies related to the Corona virus.
Literally. Can viruses pop up figuratively?

Not sure about viruses, but hysteria can pop up literally, figuratively, imaginatively, creatively, scarily, frighteningly, spookily, daringly and OMGily.
This is starting to look more like a sinister effort to crash the stock market before the election than an actual health threat. Scaring people into “staying home”, “avoiding travel and airports”, “staying away from cruise ships”, etc. is a sure fire way to deaden the flow of the economy to the degree that the market responds negatively. I don’t trust what we are being told as genuine. This might actually be no more than insurance plan number four, after Russia, Ukraine, and Impeachment all fail.
I just saw your comment after I posted. We are on the same wavelength here. :-)
So far, to me, all we really know is what our trustworthy media has told us. This might really be all a charade.
