They've gone Paul Kersey on speed cameras.

Now only if they were as vigilant at avoiding socialism and social degeneracy (but I repeat myself) as they are about avoiding speeding tickets.

When I lived in the Seattle area I noticed all the cameras were atop poles that looked like they were 8” base diameter hollow aluminum poles. I figured that a guy could just use an 8 lb maul to give it a good chop at the bottom, like when cutting down a tree. This would create a really good crimp. Then lassoo the top with a rope and simply pull it down.

Not that I ever did it or ever would. But it seemed like it would be easy to do. Of course, you’d want to wear a disguise, walk there, and leave the maul and rope. And nowadays you’d probably want to make sure you park your car where nobody’s front door security camera could pick it up...

Evidently they only like big authoritarian government that gives them stuff.

Still, it is encouraging, and I smiled as I read it.

A drone with a remote control spray can could work quickly.

How hard would it be to rig a drone up with paint can or a paint-ball gun?

Speed cameras schmead cameras.

Inside of three years all the insurance companies will require every one to use that app that tells them how fast you’re driving, etc.

You know, the ones that Aaron Rodgers and Tina Fry, and Mayhem, are telling us are so cool because they’ll get us our discounts.

No, not quite. Now, they won’t need you to get pulled over and get a ticket for doing 45 in a 35. Now, they’ll know, every time... and you will be hearing about it.

“Oh, Mr. Smith, you didn’t have your app running? I’m so sorry, you didn’t have insurance.”

If the camera isn’t too far out of reach a can of silly string is very inexpensive.

There are several construction zone truck mounted speed camera’s in Maryland. They always set them next to the porta potty so they are actually easy to see.

A couple years ago, the operator was sitting in the front seat when a guy stepped out of the woods with a baseball bat and destroyed the camera. The operator claimed he also had a shotgun, but it seems to be hard to get a good enough swing to destroy a camera while holding a shotgun so I doubt it existed.

As far as I know he was never caught

Get elected.

Pass a law making the destruction of speed cameras a non crime.

Simple.
