I have a hard time believing things like this are real.

Unfortunately, I don't. After Gore finally conceded, I happened to be working on systems at a temp agency, and one of their office workers was actually in tears, crying, because her husband, a union shop foreman at a local utility company, had told her that if Bush won, he would re-institute slavery, and she didn't want to be a slave, and she didn't want her children to be slaves.
