2020 may be the Year the News Worm Turns

“Pop” was the guide. At 5:00 pm we’d sit before the black & white TV and watch the news. After the local news—less a crime report than today—it was on to the national news on NBC, CBS and ABC.

We’d watch each channel for a few minutes, and then shift to a second. Then the third.

This was during the golden era for the news face-men—no women allowed.

Cronkite, Huntley/Brinkley, Jennings, Brokaw, Reasoner, Koppel, Chancellor, et al. Edward R. Morrow was Dean Emeritus of the News School. Morrow came to fame in the radio era with his reporting from London during the Blitz, heard by the world. As, later, his televised broadcasts were heard during the Joe McCarthy episode.

After watching one station for a few minutes, Pop would say, “Now watch this,” and roll the plastic dial on the forty-pound set to another news broadcast, and say “Watch.” He’d repeat the three-step flip from one three-letter acronym channel to the next. And back again.

After a few rotations came the lesson. “Now, see how they’re all reporting the same news? Sometimes even in the same sequence.” Even a ten-year old could see it was Eeny, Meeny, and Miny. It stayed that way until along came Moe—CNN.

Meanwhile, on February 26, 1967, the worm shifted some when America’s most trusted, televised-news reader, Walter Cronkite, ended his evening broadcast with a brief editorial statement. Cronkite had recently returned from Vietnam where he’d hosted a documentary on the VC/NVA TET (New Year) offensive that began January 31, 1968.

"Edward R. Morrow was Dean Emeritus of the News School. Morrow came to fame in the radio era"

You'd think the author could at least get Edward R. Murrow's name spelled correctly.

“America’s most trusted, televised-news reader, Walter Cronkite...”

...single-handedly caused the death of thousands of America’s sons. He lied to the camera about the Vietnam TET offensive and the war.

After retiring from TV, he went to writing leftist commentaries. Bastard.

He had my parents, like so very many Americans, quite fooled during his TV news years.

You are so right.

While presented as a voice of reason and professionalism, the Cronk was a very willing and useful communist tool.

And yes, the deaths of many US servicembers lay at his feet.

There is a reason why so many anti-American left-wing in media/press/acedemics hold Cronk on a godlike pedestal.

The natural disposition is always to believe. It is acquired wisdom and experience only that teach incredulity, and they very seldom teach it enough. The wisest and most cautious of us all frequently gives credit to stories which he himself is afterwards both ashamed and astonished that he could possibly think of believing. — Adam Smith, Theory of Moral Sentiments (1759)
“It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.” - Mark Twain
“The republican principle demands that the deliberate sense of the community should govern the conduct of those to whom they intrust the management of their affairs; but it does not require an unqualified complaisance to every sudden breeze of passion or to every transient impulse which the people may receive from the arts of men, who flatter their prejudices to betray their interests.” ― Alexander Hamilton
Only too true . . .

I prefer Edward R Sparrow.

Yes. See my tagline.

I suspect this applied to our President Trump — He believed that most in DC were good and patriotic Americans, with a handful of scoundrels in the mix. He now knows the opposite is true.

I think traditional “nightly” news is dying a slow death. There I significant competition but because of the high costs of reporting ad real investigative journalism we have seen a shift towards specialty sites and outlets like twitter.

With legacy news becoming more of a leftist activist propogandist organ, half of the viewers are seeking an alternative. With already dwindling viewership it’s difficult to think the big 3 will remain. Eventually with no golfers at the beachfront course in seasonal Maine it will just make sense to build condos.

The left truly understood what they had to do, to destroy liberty in America, and usher in subjugation to central state control of money, economy, resources, and ideological beliefs (socialism).

In America, the only real way to accomplish the left-wing goal of a supreme government over centrally controlled society and economy, was to turn society away from faith in God, and away from their religious oriented ideological beliefs for family and free society.

The only way to turn the masses toward humanistic beliefs, a-moralism, and socialism, was to attack faith in God. To do this they had to control all education from early childhood, and to control media and press, and re-align entertainment, (left-wing “power of the pen”), to reinforce all left-wing narratives.

They had to generationally “re-eduucate” and “normalize” secular humanistic beliefs. They would need to eliminate faith and beliefs in authority of God of the individual, as well as God’s desire for individual responsibility to Him, and replace God with the authority of what would then be morally unbridled man.

Eliminating individual responsibility also eliminates the moral boundaries and the ethical behavior and order necessary for actual justice and recourse against lawlessness, and the trust necessary for a free society and free market to even survive.

This could then shift society away from individual responsibility, to an all powerful man controlled secular state, and eliminate moral boundaries, and eliminate the individual responsibility necessary for freedoms to exist.

As liberty and individual responsibility are really the same thing, by waging a multi-generational and largely successful left-wing psyops war on God, morality, and individual responsibility, as individual responsibility and morality reduced, the greater the responsibility and punitive power (bureaucracy) over society government gained.

However, this is not the lefts ultimate objective.

Finally achieving central government control of a subjugated American society is absolutely critical, to the real and widely stated left-wing goal of subjugating America to globallist governance, or a true centrally controlled global government.

Yep. The cultural Marxists’/Frankfurt School plan.

Most sheeple can’t believe there has been such a plan, that it’s being purposely executed or that American politicians are operatives in it.

They DO feel that America’s got social problems, but they can’t really fathom why.

Not when non-sophists and non-panderers can simply be fired for not doing what their leftist overlords desire ...

Leftist media is full of interchangeable talking head now ...

“”We’d watch each channel for a few minutes, and then shift to a second. Then the third.””

He’s kidding! That was in the days of getting up to TURN THE CHANNEL and I don’t know anyone who did that. The time to turn the channel was to get a different program at the hour or half hour.
