I love the cat in all those memes. Funny has all getout.
The one thing I hope the new decade brings is a common and correct way to say each each year. Some people say “ two thousand twenty”. We should say “twenty twenty”. A hundred years ago people didn’t say “ one thousand nine hundred and twenty” for 1920.
Word of the decade: fake.
;Folks here in the mountains would just say, “You-ns”.
In many ways the 1960s began with the JFK assassination. and ended in 75 with the collapse of South Vietnam. History doesn’t neatly fall into the calendrical decades sometimes. The era of President Trump will hopefully overlap from the teens to the twenties.
Close - the 50’s ended when JFK was shot; the 60’s started when the Beatles landed in New York. The couple of months in between? Nobody knows what they were.
His name is Smudge.
Ok....I suppose it was a period of mourning for those who worshipped JFK. I was 6 at the time and had no idea who he was or anything. My only recollection was seeing a bit of the funeral on tv and thinking it was about someone important.
Yep. Gotta love him.
I had just turned three when JFK was killed - my earliest memory - very clear even now.
As a teen I couldn’t figure out why my dad didn’t like JFK (his womanizing primarily I think). I also could figure out why he hated FDR even more. (Now I do!)
Hey, have you ever seen that flick, Twenty Oh One, a Space Odyssey?
Even in the 3rd person?
the decade ends after the election...
the new decade begins during inauguration...
We are in the 20s now.
A person who is 20 is not a “teenager”.
Did the 60s end with the ousting of President Nixon?
Isnt it?
Just for some reason the extreme opposite reactions, and the calm one being the cat, just makes it funny even without words.
*I was actually laughing the whole way through typing this thinking about it*
MMXX
There is a Facebook page dedicated to him. Funny stuff.
