Having been involved with the elderly for many years, some no longer have the DL because they don’t drive, don’t have passports because they don’t travel. Many have family members taking care of them. (Medicare re-issued new id ###s, and if they are in the system with the old ###, as long as they can recite their SSN###, they don’t have to bring in their new card to prove they have Medicare.)
That’s the whole point. The GOP calls the demokraps bluff. It makes itself available at the local level to the demokraps constituents and find some folk that need to get the specific id required by voting law. Demand the leftist, pantsuit, lazy League of (demokrap/communist) Women Voters get involved in helping to maintain the integrity of the voting system and help people get their ID. It won’t consume a lot of GOP resources to help and the optics for the common folk counter the demokraps fake racism. This isn’t to convince the race hustlers that voter id is not-racist, it is a message to them you are reaching out to get their constituents’ votes. That brings fear to them.

Bingo! At 18 y.o. you don’t get cigarettes or beer or entrance to a bar without an ID. Meaning, they do have IDs.
In fact, many have multiple IDs with many different names.
It’s how to maximize those welfare benefits.

So it’s just laughably absurd & insultingly racist to suggest that poor or POC are quaking in fear & confusion about how to get an ID.
