I don’t know much about Kangaroos, but the one in pic reminded me of my dogs...Very sad story. Like in the past in Cali, I feel for the people and animals being affected by the fires.

Is there a valid position where one eats meat without apology, but at the same time recognizes that in exchange for the meal, a life was given, and one hopes it was given in a humane and compassionate way? Or does this very question place me in the realm of brainwashed leftie loonies?

No. No it doesn’t at all. That doesn’t make you brainwashed leftie loonie. But some of the comments here show how depraved some posters here are.

No matter the cause or who or what may or may not to be blamed, many people and many animals are suffering.

FWIW, my uncle lived in Paradise California in the house he built himself and lived in for over 35 years, and in the 2018 Camp fire, now in his elderly years, many years retired after working for the phone company and raising 3 children, a good man, a devoutly Christian man, he and his wife barely escaped with their lives. They managed to get one of their dogs into their truck before fleeing the flames but all their other pets, another dog and three cats and their goats and their horse were all killed in the fire. They lost their house all of their belongings save the clothes they were wearing, a life time of memories and personal treasures, pictures and other irreplaceable items and their beloved animals, all gone, reduced to ash.

The only thing that survived was a shed that had my uncle’s tools. With that he vowed to rebuild but last I heard he and his wife were still living in Chico with their eldest son. They are just too old at this point and their financial losses too great to rebuild.
