Firstly, words fail to describe my despair for the animals in this fire. My second point as a tangent is that this horror and the Iran thing is warping the brains of the very impressionable ,purposely by the media,to think we are going to have WWIII and the Earth is on fire.
I’m in Aus. Bushfires nothing new here. But the big dry here and big heat all the time is making the bushfire season much worse. It was a smidge over 120 in western Sydney yesterday.
How much brush reduction is being done in Australia, or do their government officials and their natural resource managers have the California mindset when it comes to dealing with these seasonal fires over there?

Exactly what I was thinking. Saw a map of the fires this morning and nearly all of them are along the east coast crescent. Coincidentally, 90% of Aussies live within one hundred miles of the pacific coast.
I dont know much about Kangaroos, but the one in pic reminded me of my dogs...Very sad story. Like in the past in Cali, I feel for the people and animals being affected by the fires.
No. No it doesnt at all. That doesnt make you brainwashed leftie loonie. But some of the comments here show how depraved some posters here are.
No matter the cause or who or what may or may not to be blamed, many people and many animals are suffering.
FWIW, my uncle lived in Paradise California in the house he built himself and lived in for over 35 years, and in the 2018 Camp fire, now in his elderly years, many years retired after working for the phone company and raising 3 children, a good man, a devoutly Christian man, he and his wife barely escaped with their lives. They managed to get one of their dogs into their truck before fleeing the flames but all their other pets, another dog and three cats and their goats and their horse were all killed in the fire. They lost their house all of their belongings save the clothes they were wearing, a life time of memories and personal treasures, pictures and other irreplaceable items and their beloved animals, all gone, reduced to ash.
The only thing that survived was a shed that had my uncles tools. With that he vowed to rebuild but last I heard he and his wife were still living in Chico with their eldest son. They are just too old at this point and their financial losses too great to rebuild.
I forgive you for responding to the wrong freeper.
You’re right, and for that I sincerely apologize.......I will have the comment removed. Thanks
Wow...what a story about your uncle...So glad he survived but so so sorry for his pets and home/belongings—esp. in a house he built himself** I know I have talked about what I would do in event of a SHTF event regarding pets...So hard to think about...
And I do remember reading about Paradise...shut off by the fires :(
I posted numerous threads about those fires in 2018...To keep Freepers living there and with loved ones updated...My son and a dear friend live in Bay area, so I was watching... Like you say, when I posted those threads, some here were without empathy.
** Sorry he cannot rebuild...but maybe someone in the family will do a rebuild as a legacy tribute. Hats off to him as it sounds like he has a lot of talent to do what he did. Glad he has relatives in Chico.
Prayers and best wishes to your Uncle and his family.
I don't, I just take pleasure in pointing out the hypocrisy of those of you who do...........LOL!
For the second time, you seem to have me confused with someone else.
If you count insects and microbes and such. I do feel empathy for these animals caught in this. But I feel more for the people.
Thanks for your reply! The pics of what you guys are going through (I am in No California and one of my brother’s houses was wiped out in the crazy 2017 fires we had here, along with plenty of my belongings which were stored in his barn bldg) are just heart wrenching.
Is or has there been there any kind of organization there that has spoken out about clearing brush, or clearing fire-control swathes through brushland as a fire-preventative measure? Or controlled-burn activity? Surely there must be folks there that understand fire season and the severe drought and etc; etc and I’m just asking has there been anyone actually doing more than making alarm noises? If even those?
Yes, surely it would be a huge task given the vast area(s) involved. On the other hand it’s not like it’s rocket science to run bulldozers over generally flat land and cut the brush to the ground when the threat is so obvious. But this is what man does: Nobody gives a crap until *after* the disaster.
I do have sympathy for the animals, however, all around the world people are really beginning to have more concern for animals than for people. It is REALLY bad in the United States and there is no excuse. I guess only judgement will sort things out, either in this life, or the one after.
Thanks! ; )
