Whatever it was, the penalty for these types of calls is too severe. Unless someone does something egregious to purposely endanger the other player, ejection is ridiculous. I say the same about the Oklahoma player earlier and many plays in other years. I get the attempt to protect players, but errant plays remove all-star players and change game outcomes every year. It’s over reaction. Give the other team 15 yards and remove the player for a series unless it is premeditated to hurt the other player.
Grabbing the face mask and snapping the neck is dangerous.
Don’t remember who it was but last week someone kept going trying to get yards as opposing side grabbed his mask and tried to stop him. He took two players with him as he kept going
