Well youll love this news: the Vintage Patterns Wiki has released more than 83,500 patterns of pre 1992, out of print patterns for all to use.
The browsable collection runs the gamut from Dynasty-inspired pussy bow power suits to Betty Draper-esque frocks featuring models in white gloves to an 1895 boys Reefer Suit with fly-free short trousers.
Visitors can narrow their search to focus on a particular garment, designer or decade.
If you click these links, you can see patterns from the following decades: 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.
The movie star collection is particularly fun. (Flattering or no, Ive always wanted a pair of Katharine Hepburn pants )

So true. The only fabric store in my area now is Jo Ann.
I looked to see if they had a search function, but I didn’t see one.

I eventually found the ability to search by pattern manufacturer and pattern number.
However the one I found does not appear to be available for download. I see two vendors selling it. If there are any for download, I didn’t find it. :)
A good place for patterns in my area is the local thrift store.
OMG $125.00 for a pattern, theyll be sitting on those for a long time!!!} By the time you buy the pattern, fabric, zippers, thread etc. you can buy a really nice dress for $350.00!!!!
Yea I’m looking for where to download and I can’t find it let me know when you do.
I looked and didn’t find any patterns - just pictures of the packages containing the patterns.
they also have them on amazon
Pretty cool!
this site is click bait, there are no patterns.
Isn’t it sad, how some teachers are not really openminded when it comes to the expectations of students?
I’m glad you still have an object to go with your memory!!
My wife was horrible at math, especially fractions UNTIL she took up sewing.
That’s a good idea. Thanks!
MC Hammer patterns??
here’s a source at reasonable prices:
Bonnie’s Pattern Shop on Etsy
I assume that means you have to know what you are looking for before you can find it! :) I was hoping they might have some patterns for some costumes. Clothing from yesteryear is interesting, but when I usually make costumes, it's for some party or Halloween contest or some such.
However the one I found does not appear to be available for download. I see two vendors selling it. If there are any for download, I didnt find it. :)
That's disappointing. Also from my browsing, I see mostly women clothing. Only saw one example of what would be regarded as Mens clothing.
Another idea I had was making some Zoot suits, but I think those are more from the 1930s.
This is cool. Thanks for posting that find.
Oh this is so misogynistic...I’ll be in my safe space if anyone needs anything.
There are clothing categories including costumes (I see a male matador costume - there’s hope).

I have made a bunch of stuff from clothing I bought in a thrift store.
I once bought a black suit and a white suit, and I sliced them up into strips and made a Beetlejuice costume out of it.
